A video package runs highlight tonight as an historic night where all WWE championship belts will be defended. We then see the video package focus on Sheamus defending the WWE Championship in a Six Pack Elimination Challenge and Kane vs. The Undertaker for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
A graphic opening hits welcoming us to WWE Night of Champions. We go live to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois where a huge display of pyro goes off in the entrance area of the stage. Michael Cole is the first to welcome us to the show and introduces Jerry “The King” Lawler and Matt Striker.
Excuse me! Vickie Guerrero is on her way out with her NXT rookie Kaitlyn. She introduces the reigning and defending WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dolph ziggler.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
If Ziggler is counted out or disqualified, he loses the title
Dolph Ziggler (c) w/ Vickie Guerrero & Kaitlyn vs. Kofi Kingston
Quick arm drag by Kofi early on. Ziggler responds with one of his own. Kofi clotheslines Ziggler over the top rope. Vickie checks on Ziggler and sends Kaitlyn to the back. Matt Striker is talking about how attracted he is to Guerrero on commentary. Ziggler rolls back in the ring to avoid a count out finish. Ziggler with a big dropkick to Kofi in the corner who was wrapped up the ropes. Ziggler slows the action down locked in a headlock on Kofi. Ziggler catches Kofi with a big boot and nearfall. Ziggler with his jumping elbow drop for another nearfall. Ziggler keeps up his quick offense with a blockbuster on Kofi. Ziggler catches Kofi with a Fameasser leg drop, wraps up the legs of Kofi during the pin and Kofi barely kicks out. We see a shot of Vickie at ringside and Striker adds, “There she is, Pat Benatar stung by bees.” Ziggler rolls Kofi onto his chest and drops a flying elbow over his back. Cole, Lawler and Striker are continuing to make fat jokes about Vickie on commentary. Kofi catches Ziggler with boots to the face in the corner and connects with a huge crossbody off the top rope for a nearfall. Kofi with a modified Lou Thesz Press on Ziggler. Kofi connects with the Boom Drop. Ziggler dodges Trouble in Paradise and goes for the sleeper. Kofi fights out and plants Ziggler into a pinfall, but Ziggler gets his boot on the bottom rope before the three count. Kofi jumps off the ring apron and takes out Ziggler. Referee begins the count. Kofi with a scoop slam on Ziggler on the floor. Kofi rolls Ziggler back in at the eight count, hooks the leg and Ziggler kicks out. Kofi attempts his suplex plant into a pinfall, but Ziggler counters and gets a sleeper applied. Kofi breaks the sleeper, gets a sleeper applied on Ziggler and Ziggler runs Kofi towards the ropes to break it up. Vickie goes to slap Kofi, but Ziggler tells her no. Kofi attempts Trouble in Paradise. Ziggler dodges it and drops Kofi with his jumping neckbreaker. Ziggler covers Kofi and gets the pinfall.

After the match, Vickie Guerrero gets in the ring and celebrates with Dolph Ziggler.
Backstage, Edge is warming up for his match later tonight. Todd Grisham wants to know what his strategy is for the Six Pack Challenge match tonight. Edge asks Grisham why he would ask him that and the better question is, how will the others overcome and beat him. He said he shines best in situations like this and promises to walk out the new WWE Champion.
CM Punk vs. Big Show
Before the match starts, Chicago’s own CM Punk grabs a mic and the crowd starts a loud, “CM PUNK” chant. Punk says he loves Chicago. He said he loves the parks, Navy Pier and the skyline. Punk said he loves the history and he, again, loves Chicago. Punk said what he despises the most are the people who live in Chicago. He said “they” ruined his beautiful city, the middle class lazy teamsters and corrupt politicians and police officers. Punk added how horrible the Chicago White Sox are and the Suzy Homemakers who fatten up their kids and take pills so they can pass out on the couch. He adds, “You people make me sick.” Punk said he is proud to live in Chicago, but feels it should be “burned to the ground” and in the ashes he can build up his own Straight Edge Society. He said speaking of fat people, everyone say Big Show punch him with his big fat fist and he runs from nobody and actually showed up tonight. Punk said the power of almighty Straight Edge will overcome Big Show tonight.
CM Punk attempts some quick kicks early on and Big Show drops him immediately. Punk with a quick dropkick, but Big Show catches him with a kick and forearm to the back. Big Show chokes Punk with his boot in the corner. Big Show then chest chops Punk right over the top rope. Punk catches Big Show with a big knee to the jaw and connects with a senton off the ring apron to Big Show on the mat. A loud “CM PUNK” chant starts up. Referee starts the count. Punk counts along. Big Show rolls back in at nine. Punk with some kicks to Big Show on the mat. Punk comes off the middle rope with a flying elbow. Punk with kicks to Big Show’s chest and then a big kick to the head. Big Show takes out Punk with a huge tackle as Punk was attempting a springboard clothesline. Big Show with his knockout punch, hooks the leg and gets the pinfall.
Winner: Big Show
After the match, Big Show exits the ring favoring his ribs after taking kicks from Punk.
Backstage, Josh Mathews is with Chris Jericho. Mathews says Edge sounds confident after Todd Grisham spoke with him earlier. Jericho said he was put in this match for a reason. He said these kind of matches favor him. Jericho said tonight he walks out the new WWE Champion and it isn’t because of luck, it is because he is the best at what he does.
At ringside, Michael Cole reminds us that Jericho promised if he didn’t win the WWE Championship tonight, he would leave WWE. We see a shot of members of the National Guard at ringside. Matt Striker all of a sudden adds that Jericho retracted that promise he made a few weeks ago. Cole added, “Well, he put it out there.”
A video package runs highlighting the events between The Miz and Daniel Bryan starting during the season season of NXT followed by his return to WWE last month at Summerslam.

The Miz (c) w/ Alex Riley vs. Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan goes in for a few takedowns and Miz avoids Bryan. Bryan attempts his LeBell Lock early on and Miz bails to the outside. Miz drops Bryan’s arm off the top rope and goes to work on his left arm. Miz sends Bryan shoulder first with his left arm into the corner. Miz with a quick back suplex on Bryan. Miz pulls back the arms of Bryan and then drops down driving his knees into his back. Bryan counters into a backslide for a nearfall. Miz responds immediately with a boot to Bryan’s left shoulder. Alex Riley gets in a quick cheap shot. Miz continues to work over the left shoulder of Bryan. Miz with a snap armbar drop on Bryan. Bryan attempts a comeback with big elbows to Miz, but Miz comes back with a boot to Bryan’s shoulder. Miz charges, Bryan tosses him out, hits the ropes and hits a huge suicide dive on Miz falling into the announcer’s table similar to his NXT match with Chris Jericho. Bryan with a huge missile dropkick on Miz off the top rope. Bryan with a kick to the face and Miz gets a shoulder up after two. Bryan with a jumping kick to the face of Miz for another nearfall. Bryan with some stiff kicks to Miz in the corner followed by a big dropkick in the corner to the chest of Miz. Bryan with a stiff kick to the head of Miz and another close two count. Bryan has Miz up on the top rope. Miz crotches Bryan on the rope and clotheslines Bryan with force off the top rope. Miz hooks the leg and Bryan kicks out. Miz drops his knee over the back of Bryan’s neck and pulls back on his left arm working on the shoulder. Miz attempts the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz counters into a rollup for a close two count. Miz counters LeBell Lock attempts when Riley jumps up on the ring apron. Miz takes him out by accident. Bryan rolls up Miz and gets another close two count. Miz tosses Bryan to the outside. Bryan dodges an attack from Riley and Riley hits the steel ring post. Miz with a small package on Bryan and gets a nearfall. Miz mounts Bryan and drops some big left hands. Miz gets in the referee’s face. Bryan drops Miz and locks in the LeBell Lock. Miz is reaching out for the ropes. Miz hangs in as Bryan locks in the LeBell Lock even more. Miz taps.
Winner & new WWE United States Champion: Daniel Bryan
After the match, Daniel Bryan is handed the WWE United States Championship and holds it up high. Huge reaction for Bryan and the finish. They showed a replay of the finish and Michael Cole kept saying Miz slipped to cause the setup for the submission. Back live, Miz is sitting on the floor by the ring and can’t believe what just happened. Lawler adds, “I love losers when they cry.”
A promo for the Hell in a Cell PPV in two weeks on Sunday, October 3 is shown.
Backstage, Josh Mathews is with John Cena. Boo birds are out in full force in Rosemont/Chicago. Cena talks about how tonight is all about percentages. He adds never count me out.
Out come the WWE Divas acting as Lumberjills in the unification match.

WWE Divas Champion Melina vs. WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool
Both girls lock up and roll out of the ring still lockedu p. McCool slaps Rosa Mendes and slides back in the ring. Melina with a big back kick that drops McCool. Melina gets McCool tied up in the ropes, goes up top and McCool pulls her down by her hair sending her to the outside. No attacking from the Divas at ringside. McCool with forearms to the back of Melina. McCool applies a head scissors on Melina on the mat keeping the action grounded. Melina pulls herself up avoiding a Styles Clash from McCool and plants McCool with a facebuster. McCool with a belly-to-belly suplex for a nearfall. Natalya tries to pull out McCool. Melina with a rollup. The referee is distracted. McCool kicks out after two when the referee finally counts the pinfall. McCool jumps out going after Natalya. Finally the rest of the Divas go after McCool. Melina with elbows and a spin kick to McCool. Melina kicks McCool into the ropes and drives her knee into her back. Melina lets out of a loud scream, dodges a big boot from McCool, but McCool hits her with a big kick. McCool puts Melina up on the top rope. McCool seems to botch the spot and they both fall off the top rope to the outside. McCool tosses Melina back inside. The Divas are all brawling. Layla got involved and got in a few shots on Melina. In the ring, McCool hits Melina with a big boot and gets the pinfall.

After the match, Michelle McCool and Layla celebrate the win.
Backstage, we see Nexus leader Wade Barrett. Todd Grisham talks about the odds being stacked against him tonight. Barrett said he listened to what Edge, Jericho and Cena said tonight. He said they represent greatness, but also the status quo in WWE. He said the winds of change are blowing in WWE and tonight he gets to prove that.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship – No Holds Barred
Kane (c) vs. The Undertaker
Taker went after Kane right away during his entrance and threw him into a pillar that was part of the set. Taker then tosses Kane off the stage into another pillar. Kane fights back with a kick to Taker and some big right hands. Taker comes back with some right hands of his own. They start brawling towards the crowd against the steel barricade. Kane sends Taker shoulder first into the steel ring steps and hits a few boots to the head. Big uppercut by Kane at ringside. Kane tosses Taker in the ring and gets up on the top rope. Kane with a flying clothesline from the top rope. Kane drops a leg over the throat of Taker and gets a nearfall. Kane with a big leaping boot to the head of Taker and then pulls him out under the bottom rope. Kane then tosses Taker over the announce table. Taker responds sending Kane shoulder first into the steel ring steps. Taker tosses Kane back inside, pulls him out under the bottom rope and drops a leg. Kane is able to get up quickly, but Taker clotheslines him into the timekeepers area. Taker then charges and jumps over the timekeepers area tackling Kane. Kane is able to recover and hit Taker with a steel chair to the body. More brawling into the crowd. Kane with an uppercut that sends Taker back to the ringside area. Kane stands up on the guard railing wall and takes out Taker with a flying right hand. Kane tosses Taker back in the ring and drops some boots to the chest. More big elbows from Kane to the head of Taker. Taker is taunting Kane as Kane hits him with some big right hands and keeps coming back with some of his own. Taker fights back with snake eyes and big boot combo on Kane. Taker drops a leg. Taker connects with a chokeslam. Taker has Kane up on his shoulders. Kane counters and connects with the Tombstone Piledriver on Taker. Kane hooks the leg and gets the pinfall.
Winner and still WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Kane
After the match, Kane drops his arms and the pyro fills the ring from all four corners. Michael Cole said you could collectively hear the crowd go silent in shock as Kane countered the Tombstone Piledriver and connect with one of his own. Lawler asks if we could be seeing the end of an era in WWE and the beginning of another. The crowd gives Undertaker a loud reaction as he heads up the ramp to the back.
Backstage, Randy Orton is shown warming up as Todd Grisham walks up wanting a comment. Orton pauses, looks at Grisham and says, “No.”
WWE Tag Team Championships – Tag Team Turmoil Match
The Hart Dynasty (c’s) vs. The Usos w/ Tamina
The Hart Dynasty will have to go through four other teams to retain their titles. Tyson Kidd is in first with one of The Usos. Michael Cole can’t even tell the difference. We started with Jay and now Jimmy is in. Jimmy misses a charge on Kidd and hits the corner. Tag to DH Smith. Smith with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Kidd gets the tag and connects with a springboard moonsault on both Usos at ringside. Kidd gets a Sharpshooter locked in. Jay breaks it up and kicks Kidd in the head. The Usos get the win.
The Hart Dynasty is eliminated.
Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov are out next to take on The Usos. Santino splashes one of The Usos and Kozlov takes out the other. Tamina is up on the ring apron to distract Santino. Samoan Drop by one of The Usos and they stay alive.

Evan Bourne and Mark Henry are up next to take on The Usos. Bourne with a series of kicks early. Tag to Henry who puts together a series of big clotheslines and a right hand. World’s Strongest Slam by Henry. Bourne is up top and hits the Shooting Star Press. Bourne hooks the leg and The Usos are eliminated.
The Usos are eliminated.
Drew McIntyre and “Dashing” Cody Rhodes are out next and are the final team. We will determine new champions here. McIntyre goes after Bourne right away pushing him into the corner hitting some kicks and stomps. Tag to Rhodes who kicks Bourne right in the face. McIntyre with a big uppercut. Bourne with an elbow and kick to the leg. McIntyre comes back quickly with a big clothesline. Quick tags between McIntyre and Rhodes as they work over Bourne. McIntyre now the leg man and drops Bourne over his knee. Bourne is tossed out and Rhodes gets in a few shots as McIntyre distracts the referee. Rhodes overhead the commentary and praised Cole for referring to him as “Dashing” Cody Rhodes. McIntyre has Bourne up in a vertical suplex and Bourne drives knees into the head of McIntyre. Hot tag to Henry. Headbutt to McIntyre as Rhodes gets the legal tag. Henry has Rhodes up and drops him down over the mat. Tag to Bourne who stands on the shoulders of Henry. McIntyre walks up and kicks the legs of Henry as Bourne jumps off. Bourne with a spin kick to McIntyre. Rhodes with Cross Rhodes on Bourne. Rhodes gets the pinfall.
Winners and new WWE Tag Team Champions: Drew McIntyre & “Dashing” Cody Rhodes
After the match, Drew McIntyre and “Dashing” Cody Rhodes celebrate winning the tag titles. Matt Striker adds that this means McIntyre and Rhodes can appear on any show they want now.

Backstage, we see WWE Champion Sheamus. Josh Mathews talks about Sheamus being at a huge disadvantage tonight. Sheamus said he is not concerned and he is champion because he always wins. He said he can promise two things tonight: a smile on his face and the WWE Championship over his shoulder.
WWE Championship – Six Pack Elimination Challenge
Sheamus (c) vs. John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Chris Jericho vs. Wade Barrett
Crowd is hyped for the main event tonight. We got ring introductions for the challengers John Cena (boo birds in full force), Edge (moderate reaction), Chris Jericho (decent reaction), Wade Barrett (big heat), Randy Orton (huge reaction) and the champion Sheamus (huge heat). Cole mentioned there are 32 combined world title reigns for all the men involved in this main event.
Crowd is insanely hyped for the main event. The bell rings and tons of brawling breaks out. Barrett goes shoulder first into the steel ring post when Orton side steps him. Sheamus pulls Orton out and Orton sends Sheamus into the barricade. Orton is back in and Cena levels him with a clothesline. Jericho tosses Cena out and hits Orton with some right hands. Cena is back in and hits some big rights on Jericho. Jericho responds with some of his own. Cena with a bulldog on Jericho. Orton with an RKO on Jericho. Orton hooks the leg and gets the pinfall.
Chris Jericho is eliminated.
Jericho can’t believe it. A loud “Y2J” chant starts up as Jericho leaves the ring and heads to the back. Orton, Cena, Edge and Sheamus all surround Barrett. All four go after him. Edge and Sheamus clothesline him over the top rope. Orton and Cena clothesline Edge and Sheamus and then toss them out of the ring. Cena and Orton are left alone in the ring. Barrett is in and goes after Orton. Barrett tries to get some help from Sheamus and Edge. They pause and then both go after him. Cena with a dropkick on Edge. We are again left with Orton and Cena in the ring. Orton misses an RKO. Cena attempts an STF. Orton pushes him away. More counters. Barrett pulls Edge and Orton off the ring apron and Sheamus levels Barrett with a clothesline. Sheamus rolls in and gets a nearfall on Cena. Sheamus beats down Cena and then leaves the ring to get in a few shots of his own. Back in the ring, Sheamus with a high knee on Cena. Sheamus with a high elbow on Cena. Sheamus has Cena up on the top turnbuckle with his back facing the ring. Sheamus has Cena up, but Cena holds on to the ropes. Edge trips Cena up on the top turnbuckle after fighting off Sheamus. Edge and Sheamus with a double superplex on Cena off the top rope. On the outside, Sheamus and Edge toss Barrett into the guard railing. Sheamus and Edge toss Orton back in the ring. Sheamus with forearms to the chest of Orton. Edge with a shoulder charge to Orton in the corner. Orton fires back with clotheslines on Edge and Sheamus. Snap powerslam by Orton on Edge. Sheamus levels Orton. Barett knocked off the ring apron. Edge and Sheamus now go at it with Edge planting Sheamus with an inverted DDT. Sheamus side steps a Spear attempt by Edge and connects with his Irish Curse backbreaker. Edge side steps a big boot and Spears sheamus. Edge with a Spear on Orton. Cena with an AA on Edge, pinfall and Edge is gone.
Edge is eliminated.
We are down to Cena, Orton, Sheamus and Barrett. Barrett has Cena up on his shoulders. Cena counters and gets Barrett up on his. Barrett counters and drops Cena with a big DDT. Barrett with big left hand jabs to Cena. Cena with huge flying shoulder breakers and his spinning powerbomb plant. Five Knuckle Shuffle by Cena on Barrett. Cena has Barrett up. Barrett counters off and Sheamus catches Barrett. Cena has Sheamus down in the STF. Sheamus gets to the bottom rope. Here comes Nexus. Cena takes out a few. Barrett is in and drops Cena with his Wasteland finisher. Barrett pins Cena.
John Cena is eliminated.
The crowd can’t believe it. Nexus starts going after Orton at ringside and toss him back in the ring. Nexus jump up on the ring apron as Orton gets to his feet. Cena has a steel chair and takes out Nexus. Orton with an RKO on Heath Slater. Barrett has Orton up. Orton hits his backbreaker on Barrett. Orton with an RKO on Barrett, cover and Barrett is gone.
Wade Barrett is eliminated.
Sheamus is in the ring. Sheamus levels Orton with his big boot. Sheamus covers and Orton kicks out. Sheamus can’t believe it. Orton counters a Celtic Cross attempt and catches Sheamus with an RKO. Orton gets the pinfall.
Sheamus is eliminated.
Winner & new WWE Champion: Randy Orton
After the match, Randy Orton is handed the title and holds up the WWE Championship in the corner. We then see the eliminations of John Cena and Sheamus to close the match. Back live, Orton is holding the title high in the corner as he gets a huge ovation from the crowd.
