Are you ready? Then stop questioning your heart and join me, because it’s time for the 2nd to last ECW on SyFy!
The show starts with Tiffany addressing the roster over the fact that within two weeks, ECW will be going off the air forever! She is standing behind the podium for a very professional looking address. She announces that the show may be ending, but it is Mardi Gras so she will be partying! She has what appears to be a Strawberry Daiquiri in hand.
Zack Ryder confronts her to ask why she is partying when no one knows where they will be ending up. Tiffany says that in fact she is going to party, because New Orleans won the Superbowl! Ryder still asks if she is really going to be partying tonight. Tiffany replies, ?woo, woo, woo, you know it?!
Yoshi Tatsu & Goldust v. Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft
The match starts off with Goldust and Trent in the ring. I?m very thankful that Trent has his name on his pants, if not I would be completely lost. Goldust drops Trent with a shoulder block and then tags in Yoshi Tatsu. Yoshi uses his speed to get around Trent and connects with a flying Clothesline. Trent goes for a quick roll-up, but Yoshi kicks out. Trent is able to push Yoshi into the corner and Croft gets the tag into the ring.
This has given the young tag team the moment they needed to get control as Croft is able to land with a couple of punches and then takes down Yoshi whilst tagging Trent back into the ring. Trent probably should have stayed out of the ring as he is sent head first into the turnbuckle by Yoshi. This allows Yoshi to tag Goldust into the ring. Goldie comes in and hits his signature drop punch to the face. Trent attempts to run away which results in tagging Croft in a rather sneaky manner. Croft punches Goldust in the face as we head to commercial.

We come back from commercial with Goldust being sent down to the mat by Croft. Barreta gets tagged into the ring again and locks a leg hold on the Golden one. The crowd is starting to get behind Goldust as Yoshi is desperately yearning for the tag. Goldust gets to his feet, but Trent stops him with a swinging leg take down. Croft gets the tag.
Croft goes back to work on the leg of Goldust, but this time it looks like Goldust is going to be able to escape. Despite a series of punches, Trent ends up dropping him to the mat and pushing him into the corner. Trent then locks on another leg hold. Croft is tagged into the ring and goes for a cover, Goldust kicks out. Croft then tags Trent back in, who takes a second to gloat before kicking Goldust in the face. Trent goes for the leg again, but this time Goldust escapes.
Yoshi gets an incredibly hot tag and hits his rolling snapmare combo on Croft. Croft kicks out. Yoshi heads to the top rope and connects with the spinning wheel kick. Trent enters the ring to break the pin. Goldust enters to take out Trent with a running bulldog. Yoshi Tatsu hits Croft with KA-RA-TAY kick.

Ezekiel Jackson w/ William Regal v. Perry the Local Jobber
Squash match which ended with Jackson hitting his finisher that will probably never be named.
Winner: Ezekiel Jackson
After the match Regal grabbed the microphone and put down Tiffany for her failings as ECW General Manager. Then he tells her that next week for the final episode of ECW, she needs to give Jackson a rematch against Christian for the Title. Jackson then quotes the Bible as we head to commercial.
****Commercial****
Christian is in the back and says that he accepts Regal’s challenge to put his Title against Ezekiel Jackson for next week’s final episode of ECW. Christian says the one condition? is that it will be an Extreme Rules match!
Shelton Benjamin v. Vance Archer
Before the match, Shelton Benjamin grabs the microphone. Shelton says that originally he thought that he was too good for ECW. But on week one, Yoshi Tatsu kicked him in the mat and pinned him clean. Shelton thanks and puts over all of the young talent in the back. Shelton also puts over the fans for their support. Shelton says that the one guy he doesn?t respect is Vance Archer.
****Commercial****
We come back from commercial and Vance Archer is in the ring. Shelton has established himself as someone who will not be intimidated by Archer’s vast size. (For those of you who have missed ECW the past couple of months, Vance Archer is the former ?Lance Hoyt/Rock? of TNA (or if you really know wrestling, the former ?Dallas?)).
Shelton is backed into the corner and stomped repeatedly by Archer. Shelton will have none of that and connects with a series of punches. Shelton goes for a quick roll up, but he rolls through it to roll into a half Boston Crab. Archer escapes and looks to be heading to the top rope. Shelton kicks Archer firmly in the face and he falls to the outside.
****Commercial****
We are on the outside and Vance Archer has a kendo stick. Shelton picks up a chair and blocks the shot! Shelton tries to shove the chair into the gut of Archer, but in the end finds himself swung into the barricade. Shelton does not look so good, and appears to be busted open on the forehead. Archer rolls him back into the ring.
The WWE medic is in the ring to clean up the cut on Shelton’s forehead. After a two minute ordeal of cleaning the wound, Shelton runs with all of his might towards Vance. Archer puts him on the third ropes, and power bombs him down to the mat! Somehow Shelton is able to kick out.
Archer locks Shelton into an armbar and begins to work the gut of Shelton. The crowd is starting to get behind Benjamin, but for their efforts he is sent front first into the turnbuckle. Shelton is caught in a hold again, but this time, he escapes! Shelton jumps to the top rope and connects with a crossbody. Shelton goes for a kick, Archer blocks, but Shelton follows all the way through. Shelton goes for the cover, but Archer kicks out! Shelton connects with a back body drop.
Shelton jumps to the top rope and hits a huge neckbreaker. He follows this up with pay dirt, and this match is all over!
Winner via Pay Dirt: Shelton Benjamin
ECW Thoughts
1 Week Left!
I?m going to be straight with you and say that I thought Tiffany’s opening to ECW tonight was terrible. The whole thing with wanting to party over worrying about the future of her talents is freakin? ridiculous. I sympathized with Zack Ryder, and that should NEVER happen.
I?m just so mixed on my feelings at the moment. I don?t know yet what I am going to say next week as the show reaches a close, but I promise it will be worth the read.
I?m hoping that Christian wins his Title match next week. I was all for Jackson winning at the Rumble, BUT I now think that Christian should retire with the table.
Tonight was ?ok?, but in context of everything that is going on with the brand, I?m just not sure how to interpret it. I guess I?ll say good show. Nothing stands out, nothing was bad. I?m a big ECW fan, but they hit their stride 4 months ago and ever since then it has not lived up to that level.
