We go live to San Diego where Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn walk out to open the show.
Footage is shown from last week where Shane McMahon barred Zayn from ringside during the Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton main event under No DQ rules. We then see Zayn interfering in the match cracking a steel chair over Orton repeatedly on the stage.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn open Smackdown Live
Back live, Owens and Zayn are smiling with mics in hand. “Welcome to the Sami and Kevin Show,” yells Owens on the mic. Zayn appreciates the introduction, but says tonight is really the Kevin and Sami Show. Owens talks about the McMahon vendetta against them. Zayn brings up Bret Hart’s issues with the McMahon family. Owens said you could even ask “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Zayn says better yet – ask them.
Owens brings up Shane using his power to try and take him out by changing the stipulation to the main event. He says Orton has had every opportunity presented to him on a silver platter, while they have to fight every week just to get to where they are now on Smackdown Live. Owens accuses Shane of having Orton do his dirty week. Zayn said Shane’s attempt didn’t work last week. Owens said he knew when that match was made, he had to out-smart Shane and figure out a way to take out Orton.
He said it wasn’t very hard to do. Zayn proceeds to demonstrate what it’s like to be inside the ring or at “ringside.” He takes shots at the crowd in attendance and walks up the ramp saying that area becomes something entirely different. Zayn reminds Shane that what he did last week most definitely didn’t take place at ringside. He smiles and talks about how they won. Owens agrees. All of a sudden Randy Orton hits the ring and drops Owens with an RKO out of no where. Zayn can’t believe it standing on the stage.
Here comes Shane McMahon. Shane thanks Zayn for the tutorial. He disagrees about Owens and Zayn feeling he has a vendetta against them. Shane says while they weren’t featured at Survivor Series, they will be in action at Clash of Champions. He books Zayn and Owens vs. Randy Orton and a partner of his choosing. Shane books Zayn vs. Orton for tonight. He says Owens will be allowed at ringside, but handcuffed to the ring ropes. Shane backs up and heads to the back smiling as we see a shot of Owens recovering at ringside.
Decent opener tonight in San Diego, enjoyed Sami Zayn mocking the "barred from ringside" stipulation last week providing his own tutorial #SDLive

Not much of a match between Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode tonight, I like the Dolph Ziggler presentation right now, but if he doesn't win at #WWEClash it's just another long line of Ziggler's character doing stuff and nothing advancing #SDLive

Another underwhelming match between Charlotte Flair and Tamina, probably wasn't intended to be much to setup the #WWEClash plug with the Lumberjack match, it's still very apparent that Ruby Riott is by far the most talented in the #RiottSquad right now #SDLive

Sure seems like that ending was poorly timed and they had to kill time with Orton and Nakamura beating up Owens and Zayn #SDLive

Backstage, Shane McMahon calls that a satisfying ending to Smackdown Live. Daniel Bryan asks if Shane is done punishing Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. He said he isn’t done yet and is just getting started. Shane makes himself the special guest referee for the tag match at Clash of Champions. He says if Owens and Zayn lose, they are not only done with Smackdown Live, but all of WWE. Bryan doesn’t seem happy with this announcement.
The show comes to a close with Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura celebrating. Corey Graves is screaming on commentary how that ruling by Shane isn’t fair.
Very good main event tonight with handcuffed Kevin Owens at ringside, Sami Zayn is actually developing well as a heel act (despite being really fun act as a babyface), they really seem to be planting a seed of problems between Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon #SDLive
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) December 6, 2017
Overall, the show did a lot to advance #WWEClash in two weeks, but it was definitely one of those episodes that you could have skipped and missed nothing, lots of quick matches and a solid main event, average effort tonight in San Diego #SDLive
