WWE SmackDown kicks off with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman walking down to the ring. As Roman is on the ramp about to raise his Championship, LA Knight’s music hits.
LA Knight walks passed Roman without acknowledging him and gets into the ring. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis is standing in the ring with a table and chairs set up for the contract signing.
The fans chant “LA Knight” as Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman get into the ring. LA Knight sits at the head of the table with Heyman asking him to stand up. Heyman tries to move the table but LA Knight tells him “Nah, nah”. He tells Roman to sign the deal and sign the title away.
Nick Aldis welcomes everyone to SmackDown. Roman has a seat as Aldis tells them that this is the contract signing for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. LA Knight says they are looking at a contract and that contract reads that Roman Reigns will hand over the WWE Championship to LA Knight. He signs the contract and tells Roman to sign it.
Heyman throws the pen away and takes a pen out of his jacket. The fans chant “LA Knight”. Roman calls LA Knight an idiot. Roman says he must be stupid. Roman asks LA Knight if he ever had a contract signing. If he has ever had a Championship match before. Roman says he didn’t think so. And that means that LA Knight has no clue what he is doing right now. But not to worry because his Tribal Chief will go easy on him. Roman tries to sign the contract but the pen doesn’t work. Heyman grabs another pen and gives it to Roman as he signs the contract. The fans chant “Roman’s scared”.
Aldis grabs the contract, wishes them luck and leaves the ring. LA Knight tells Roman that he is sitting at the head of the table and to acknowledge him. He wants to talk about his first contract signing, his first WWE Championship match. He says Roman is right. He tells Roman if he thinks he will underestimate him because it’s his first time around, he is already beat. He says he is thinking about how after only one year, he is sitting at the head of the table about to take Roman’s title. And by the time they get to Crown Jewel, Roman will think “what just happened, he just walked out with my WWE Championship”.
LA Knight says this is his first time but he only needs one time. And while Roman was busy failing, he has been out here telling every one who’s game this is because there can be only one WWE Champion, one him and it’s coming up real soon and there is nothing Roman can do about it. That’s not an insult, that is a fact of life. He tells Roman he can’t stop this gravy train and being the man they call the mega star with everyone saying “LA Knight”. Roman flips the table over LA Knight and Roman stomps on LA Knight in the corner.
Roman throws LA Knight shoulder first into the ring post. Roman grabs a table from under the ring and throws it in the ring. Roman sets the table up in the ring and moves the chairs. LA Knight with right hands and he stomps on Roman in the corner. Jimmy Uso runs into the ring and he attacks LA Knight and begins to stomp on him. Roman leaves the ring and Jimmy says he got him. Jimmy goes for a super kick but LA Knight grabs him and throws him through the table as LA Knight’s music hits.
-Commercial Break-
Santos Escobar and Carlito vs. Street Profits with Bobby Lashley
The bell rings and we are under way. Dawkins and Santos start the match. Dawkins with a head lock as Santos throws him to the ropes and Dawkins with a shoulder tackle. Dawkins back to his feet and Santos with a drop kick. He goes for the cover but Dawkins kicks out. Carlito is tagged in and they double team him. Dawkins to the ropes but Carlito takes him down. Lashley distracts Carlito and Dawkins hits him from behind. Dawkins goes for a right hand but Carlito ducks and hits him with a drop kick to the outside of the ring. Ford gets in the ring and Carlito throws him to the outside.
Santos climbs the second rope but Carlito tells him to go down and he wants to do it. Carlito runs and jumps over the top rope onto the Street Profits.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Ford with a kick to the face of Santos followed by a splash. He goes for the cover but Santos kicks out. We see Rey Mysterio watching the match backstage. Ford with a modified camel clutch in the middle of the ring but Santos gets out of it. Santos goes for a right hand but Ford with a kick to the head. Right hands by Ford followed by a clothesline. Dawkins is tagged in and they double team Santos. Dawkins with a splash in the corner. He runs to the ropes but Santos with a knee to the face and both men are down. Carlito and Ford are tagged in and Carlito with a left hand. He knocks Dawkins down. Carlito with a double underhook suplex onto Ford followed by a kick to Dawkins.
Carlito with a sitdown powerbomb onto Ford. He goes for the cover but Ford kicks out. Carlito with a swinging neck breaker. He goes for the cover but Dawkins breaks it up. Santos clotheslines Dawkins to the outside of the ring. Escobar is tagged in. We see Rey watching backstage but Logan Paul hits him from behind. That distracts Carlito and Escobar who see it on the screen. Santos tells Carlito to go help Rey as Carlito runs to the back. Santos with a knee to the face onto Ford and Ford falls to the outside. Santos jumps to the outside but Ford gets in the ring and tags Dawkins in. Santos gets in the ring and they hit him with the Revelation. Dawkins goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winners: Street Profits
We cut backstage to see Roman Reigns sitting down. Paul Heyman grabs a WWE Championship with the Green Bay Packers logo on it. Roman asks what that is and Heyman says he will give that title to LA Knight because that’s the close he and the Green Bay Packers will get close to a title.
Jimmy Uso walks in and jumps onto the couch. Roman asks what he is doing. Jimmy says he was with the trainer. Roman asks him once more what he is doing. Jimmy says he ran the play, he called an audible. Roman says he ran the wrong play and that he has to get rid of LA Knight tonight. He tells Heyman to speak with Nick Aldis.
-Commercial Break-
Logan Paul is walking backstage and is stopped by Cathey Kelly. She asks him why he punched Rey tonight after showing the respect he did last week. He tells her to never let them know your next move. He tells her his fist is as big as Rey’s head. That’s why he thinks there are weight classes in boxing. Logan keeps walking and see Kevin Owens wearing a Rey shirt. Logan tells Owens that’s a nice shirt and walks away. In come Theory and Waller. They get into an argument with Owens saying he can punch them both in the face. In come WWE officials who break it up. Owens walks back and punches them both in the face.
We cut to Kayla Braxton with Dragon Lee. He tells her that he is very happy to be here on SmackDown. In comes Cedric Alexander. He says looking at him is like looking into a mirror and he would love nothing more than to have a match with him tonight. They shake hands as we cut to the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Shotzi vs. Chelsea Green with Piper Niven
The bell rings and we are under way. Chelsea with a dropkick and she throws Shotzi face first into the turnbuckle. She runs towards Shotzi but Shotzi with a kick to the head. Shotzi gets on the ring apron as Chelsea makes her way to the outside and Shotzi hits her with a cannonball off the ring apron. She throws Chelsea into the ring. Shotzi runs to the ropes and as does Chelsea, both women jump onto the second rope and Chelsea with a Russian leg sweep off the second rope. Chelsea hits her with a drop kick. She goes for the cover but Shotzi kicks out. Chelsea gets on the ring apron but Shotzi with a kick to the head. Shotzi grabs Chelsea and places her on the second rope. Chelsea with a headbutt and she slams Shotzi face first. Chelsea climbs the top rope and hits her with a drop kick. She goes for the cover but Shotzi gets her in a crucifix cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Shotzi
-Commercial Break-
John Cena’s music hits as he is introduced as the greatest of all time. The fans chant “Cena” as he tells them it’s a special night. It’s one week from Crown Jewel and there is a special energy in the arena tonight. A special excitement in the building tonight. He says for him, the energy is a little different. It is special but for him the energy is serious.
Cena says he has had a lot of serious moments in his career but it hasn’t been this serious since 20 years ago when WWE wanted to fire him. And he had to dig deep, turned it around and for over 20 years, they share this. Each and every night, he gave them his heart and soul and in return, they gave him the noise. They have given him support when he has needed it the most and they have given him their respect. The fans chant “Cena”.
He says the reason why it’s serious for him is because for the first time in 20 years, he feels he is in jeopardy of losing their support and respect. The fans all stand up and cheer him on. He thanks the fans but they can’t ignore the math. The fans chant “You still got it”.
Cena asks them what if he doesn’t. They can’t ignore the data and if he doesn’t deliver soon, they have seen it a thousand times, he can lose the support. And he doesn’t want to lose anything. He wants to feel the noise and support. He wants to keep the ride going. Cena says there is only one thing left to do at Crown Jewel, win. He says WWE uses words like “must see” all the time and they are not kidding. You must see the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania or SmackDown. And Crown Jewel is no different. It is a must see. Crown Jewel is not just a must see, it’s a must win for him. He knows that their respect is earned and it takes guts to stand in the ring and promise the victory. But the time has come to dig deep, knuckle up and deliver.
Paul Heyman walks out introducing himself.
Heyman says he is out with no hustle or loyalty to anything but the truth. He tells Cena he is out here with respect. The fans chant “you suck”. Heyman says based on his past actions, he deserves that but not tonight. Heyman asks Cena if he can enter the ring and does. Heyman extends his hand and Cena shakes it. Heyman thanks the fans for coming. Heyman thanks Cena for 21 years of sold out arena’s thanks to the name John Cena. And that mutual respect all started in a board room when Vince McMahon turned to him and said when he is running SmackDown, who he would pick as a first round draft pick from OVW and he picked Cena.
He tells Cena for 21 years, he never let anyone down. He raised his kids to be more like Cena than like himself. And then came SummerSlam against Roman Reigns and with all the respect, Roman proved that Cena is not the greatest in the ring anymore. But as long as Cena can pick up a microphone and speak, he is the greatest of all time in communication. He tells Cena they will boo himself out of the building but Cena can get them to cheer, boo and laugh with him. He tells Cena that he can talk like anyone on the planet and that Cena could have been Heyman until he pissed off the Bloodline. And now the order has come from Roman. He says it’s not enough for Cena to spear him and break his ribs. Or for Jimmy to hit him with a splash and crack his sternum. But Solo with the spike and Cena can’t talk anymore.
Heyman tells Cena the greatest weapon he has, communicating, it will be taken away from him. And Solo takes Cena’s voice from him and the Bloodline takes Cena away from the WWE Universe. He tells Cena that he came out saying he must win and in the one match left in his career that he must win, he can’t win. He tells Cena that’s not a prediction, that’s a spoiler. Out comes Solo who hits Cena from behind. Solo hits him with the Spinning Solo in the middle of the ring. Cena gets up and Solo hits him with the Samoan Spike.
We cut backstage and LA Knight cuts a promo saying that he didn’t forget about Roman hitting him with a spear. Or how Jimmy gets involved. He tells Jimmy that tonight Jimmy will tell Roman Reigns who’s game it is.

Dragon Lee vs. Cedric Alexander
The bell rings and we are under way. Cedric with a modified arm drag take down. Dragon Lee reverses it and drops Cedric down onto the mat. He gets Cedric to his feet and Dragon Lee runs to the ropes but Cedric with an arm drag. Cedric with a chop to the chest and both men exchange chops. Dragon Lee gets to the ring apron but Cedric with a knee to the face. Cedric gets on the ring apron but Dragon Lee with a knee to the face. He runs towards Cedric but Cedric drops Dragon Lee onto the ring apron.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Cedric with a Michinoku driver. He goes for the cover but Dragon Lee kicks out. Dragon Lee rolls to the ring apron and he kicks Cedric with a kick to the face. Dragon Lee climbs the top rope but Cedric with a right hand. He climbs the second rope but Dragon Lee trips him up into a tree of woe. Dragon Lee wit ha double stomp onto Cedric. Dragon Lee lifts him but up Cedric lands on his feet and hits him with a back elbow. Cedric goes for a clothesline but Dragon Lee grabs his arm and hits him with a powerbomb. He goes for the cover but Cedric kicks out. Dragon Lee hits him with an inverted DDT. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Dragon Lee
Both men shake hands after the match as Cedric raises Dragon Lee’s hand.
We see clips of last week’s Women’s Championship match and Bianca Belair returning.
Back in the arena, Bianca Belair’s music hits and out she comes to the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Bianca says she is excited to be back on SmackDown. She says while she was away, she had one thing on her mind and it replayed in her head like a horror story and it was this. We see a clip of two months ago when Damage CTRL attacked her using chairs.
She says that is still hard to watch. She says that happened just two weeks after IYO cashed in the Money in the Bank on her. And for the first time, she was at home with nothing but her thoughts. And while she tried to rehab, her body got stronger but her mind couldn’t focus on anything other than how she was going to make Damage CTRL pay.
Bianca says when she gets knocked down, she smiles and gets back up but this time she could not let it go. And for the first time in her life, she was consumed with vengeance. It was vengeance that got her up every morning, that had her training every day. Adn it was vengeance which made her come up with a plan. She says at Crown Jewel, she is getting her rematch against IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship. And that’s not it. Because next week, she will be facing Bayley because her vengeance is not complete until she takes out Damage CTRL and reclaims her WWE Women’s Championship. Bianca drops the microphone and leaves the ring.

LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso
The bell rings and we are under way. Jimmy goes for a right hand but LA Knight with right hands followed by a back elbow. A snap suplex by LA Knight as he goes for the cover but Jimmy kicks out. LA Knight with an arm bar but Jimmy with a headbutt followed by a chop to the chest. He throws LA Knight to the ropes but LA Knight with a clothesline. A drop kick by LA Knight followed by a back breaker. Jimmy grabs LA Knight and throws him onto the ring apron. Jimmy on the ring apron and he lands a suplex.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Jimmy with an uppercut in the middle of the ring. Jimmy runs towards LA Knight but LA Knight with a clothesline. LA Knight with right hands but Jimmy with a kick and he throws LA Knight shoulder first into the ring post. Jimmy with a chop to the chest. He goes for a body slam but LA Knight lands on his feet and hits him with an inverted DDT. LA Knight with right hands followed by a Russian leg sweep. LE Knight with a DDT. He goes for the cover but Jimmy kicks out.
Jimmy rolls to the outside of the ring. LA Knight to the outside and he slams Jimmy face first into the announce table and back into the ring. LA Knight climbs the top rope and jumps but Jimmy moves out of the way. LA Knight lands on his feet and Jimmy hits him with a Samoan drop. He goes for the cover but LA Knight kicks out. Jimmy climbs the top rope but LA Knight gets to his feet. LA Knight climbs the second rope but Jimmy with right hands. Jummy pushes him down. Jimmy hits him with the Uso Splash. He goes for the cover but LA Knight kicks out. Jimmy climbs the top rope but LA Knight runs and jumps to the top rope and he lands a superplex. LA Knight with the BFT. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: LA Knight
He celebrates on the top rope and as he climbs down, Roman Reigns gets in the ring. He goes for the spear but LA Knight moves out of the way and he hits Roman with the BFT as SmackDown goes off the air.
