WWE SmackDown kicks off with John Morrison and the Miz in the ring for Miz TV. They welcome everyone to the show as they introduce Jeff Hardy to the ring.
Miz TV with The Miz, John Morrison and Jeff Hardy
Miz says they heard Jeff has a clip to air. Jeff says what clip, he doesn’t have one as Miz and Morrison ask what the clip is. Miz says to roll the clip. We see a video showcasing Jeff Hardy’s feud with Sheamus with an emphasis on Jeff’s demons. The clip includes Jeff’s attack on the bartender from last week.
Back in the arena, Miz says they are trying to find what makes Jeff tick and he says that he is his daughter’s favorite superstar. He says she likes the bright colors and there’s no one brighter than Jeff Hardy. Miz says but she doesn’t know about his darkness, the darkness he has been honest about. And as a dad, he doesn’t want her to put faith in someone who will self destruct again and let her down.
Jeff says that was awesome but asks if there was a question there. Miz and Morrison asks if he is okay as Miz mentions Jeff’s loss at Backlash. Jeff says he has been through hell and back and it will take a lot more than taunts from Sheamus to bring him back to where he was. Miz asks if Sheamus is in his head. Jefrf says he is emotional, he’d be lying if he said Sheamus doesn’t bother him or that his words didn’t get under his skin or the loss at Backlash didn’t bother him because it does.
Hardy says he has to do everything in his power to destroy Sheamus to finally put his past behind him. And he thinks he will be a beacon of life as he will help people through hard times because he will show them that change is possible and hope is real. And there is life beyond their wildest dreams if they can stay sober.
Morrison says he has goosebumps. Miz says that was incredible and he is glad he came on the show because he feels like they made progress. Miz says they want to help him and Jeff needs a rematch against Sheamus but one not inside a WWE ring. One where he has home field advantage. He needs to face Sehamus in a bar fight. Morrison says to think about the symbolism. He fights his physical enemy Sheamsu and his metaphoric enemy, alcohol.
Jeff says it makes sense why he is here now. Sheamus put him up for it. He says he will never crumble and go back to where he was. And he is going to take Sheamus out in that bar fight and prove once and for all that he is on the right path to redemption and success. Hardy says he is never letting anyone down again. And they can tell Sheamus he accepts. And since they are throwing out challenges, he challenges one of them. Miz points to Morrison and Morrison points to Miz. Hardy knocks Miz down and goes after Morrison as he clothesline Morrison to the outside.
A fun start to the show and it looks like we are getting another cinematic match at Extreme Rules: Horror Show. A bar fight? This could be good. I'm guessing Hardy wins that and we get the blow off at Summerslam. #SmackDown

A decent match involving The Miz and Jeff Hardy. I was thinking all match about how 20 years ago we were watching Hardy in ladder matches and here he is still on the show. Good win for Hardy, he needs to keep the momentum going for Extreme Rules: Horror Show.#SmackDown

I'm guessing the purpose of that Women's Karaoke and the match was to turn Lacey Evans heel. Only logical explination. #SmackDown

That no contest will obviously mean a rematch but why hype up the match for a week and have it end in such a way for a silly reason? #SmackDown

Not a bad #SmackDown but not the best. It was kind of flat at times. Storylines obviously starting and some continuing. Also, they should never do another Women's Karaoke or any karaoke for that matter ever again.
