“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
The show opens with Justin Roberts asking the crowd to welcome Triple H and Stephanie McMahon – The Authority – to the ring. Michael Cole welcomes us to the show as Triple H and Stephanie come out to the ring smiling and hugging. Cole talks about the Tweet that Triple H posted about not wanting to miss the announcement they’re going to make. Triple H says, “It’s a good night to be right.” Stephanie laughs and says she liked that. She says as The Authority, sometimes they have the honor privilege of making blockbuster announcements, and tonight is one of those nights. We’ve all been hanging in the balance with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship situation, but tonight we have some resolve. Stephanie then says she wants to hear it from the horse’s mouth, the man who gave Daniel Bryan his surgery, Dr. Joseph Maroon.
Dr. Joseph Maroon is shown in a pre-taped segment. He says, “Despite Daniel Bryan’s desire to return to his normal activities, it would be detrimental to his long term health if he returned too soon. Even though Daniel is not cleared to compete this month, he will be reevaluated in the coming weeks to get him back into the ring as soon as possible.” Stephanie then says Daniel Bryan will be unable to compete at the Money in the Bank PPV. The crowd boos, and she says they can’t be that disappointed. You can’t expect an A+ recovery from a B+ player. Triple H tells them not to blame them. This isn’t the Daniel Bryan Fan Club; this is the WWE. It’s a business. What’s best for business is having a champion who can actually defend his championship, something their beloved Daniel Bryan clearly can’t do at the Money in the Bank PPV. Stephanie then says, “Therefore, it is with heavy hearts that we officially strip Daniel Bryan of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.” The crowd loudly boos this and chants, “NO!”
Stephanie reiterates what she said last week. Their hands are forced because Bryan cannot compete. Stephanie gives condolences to Bryan, who is hearing this for the first time. Her assistant tried to call him, but he never returned the call. Condolences also go out to his “ungrateful” wife, Brie Bella. She quit for absolutely nothing. Triple H calls her a “shrewd business woman.” Stephanie sarcastically calls her very bright. The show must go on for everyone else. Therefore, for the first time ever, there will be a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match at the Money in the Bank PPV. Who will have the honor of competing in that match? There will be a series of qualifying matches, the first of which happened on Smackdown (incorrect). Therefore, the first entrant into the match will be Alberto Del Rio. Triple H says the second person entered deserves it because he is who he is, and that’s The Viper, Randy Orton. Triple H guarantees that there will be a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Money in the Bank. Stephanie says, “Amen to that.”
Triple H says it’s funny how everyone couldn’t wait after WrestleMania to come to the building and rub it in their faces to say they were right. When Daniel Bryan pulled off the fluke victory of a lifetime at WrestleMania, they couldn’t wait to cheer for him. The Authority was right all along. Daniel Bryan is not WWE World Heavyweight Championship material. Stephanie said he proved it. Triple H says Bryan isn’t even here tonight – that’s how bad it is.
Triple H reiterates that he has always said, “Adapt or perish.” However, they all wanted to come out and gloat about how The Shield beat Evolution. Seth Rollins adapted, and The Shield… well here’s a video. A video recaps Seth Rollins turning his back on his Shield brothers last week on RAW. Stephanie looks proud of the video. Triple H says he believes in Seth Rollins. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns are what are left of the once dominant Shield. They will step into this ring in a six-man tag team match against Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family. Triple H says they’ll have trouble finding a third tag team partner in the locker room they destroyed over the last year and a half. This will be more like a handicap match. Triple H tells the crowd to take out their cell phones because tonight they will witness history as The Shield whimpers into extinction. Seth Rollins adapted, and tonight, The Shield will perish. The WWE World Heavyweight Championship is then seen hanging over the ring as The Authority walks to the back.
Sheamus will take on Bad News Barrett in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Qualifying Match, next.

We’re brought backstage to see Erick Rowan in his sheep mask. Luke Harper says, “They said that we were pariahs, two discarded animals, but sometimes, sometimes I still get those urges, urges from a deep, dark place.” Bray Wyatt walks in, and he says every man has urges, but the true measure of a man is to learn to control them. The Shield used to refer to themselves as the most dominant force in our universe, but that isn’t the way he remembers it. They fell victim to the faults of man. Their lust and greed led them right down into the pit where they belong. Tonight, they’ll burn for it. He is not man. He is reborn. Their bond can never be broken, and their urges can never be satisfied. Erick Rowan says, “Follow the buzzards,” as Wyatt laughs in the background.

3MB is in the ring, and Heath Slater is bouncing around. Slater says The Shield was supposed to be out here to talk, but that’s not what they do. They don’t come out here to talk…

Reigns slowly makes his way to the ring as they show a replay of Slater getting speared. Ambrose joins him in the ring with a microphone. Ambrose says The Shield was untouchable, and they will go down in the history books as one of the greatest groups in sports entertainment ever. They dominated WWE and beat everyone, even Evolution. They had a cancer inside of them, though, and that cancer’s name was Seth Rollins. Ambrose begins to shake in anger. History is full of people like Rollins, the kind of guy who would stab his brothers in the back. Rollins is a suck up who sold out to The Authority. When he gets the opportunity to rearrange his face, and he will, he’ll put his nose where his ear was, of which he’ll only have one left, and he’ll tear his hair out. Seth Rollins is scum, and they are looking forward to what that scum has to say tonight. They want him to lie through his teeth in front of the whole world. They want the world to hear Triple H’s words coming out of his mouth. They’ll listen to every word before beating the hell out of him.
Roman Reigns takes the microphone. Reigns says Rollins committed the most unforgiveable sin. Reigns says that Rollins is the scum of the earth. There are things you don’t do in life. You don’t tug on Superman’s cape, you don’t piss in the wind, and you don’t stab your brothers in the back. Rollins is only part of the problem, though. There’s also Randy Orton and Triple H. Orton runs around thinking everyone owes him something. Orton thinks he’s the face of the company. When he gets his hands on Orton, he’ll be the ass of the company. When he’s done with Orton, he’s coming for Triple H, the King of Kings. They’ll have their own Game of Thrones. Believe that! Seth Rollins is seen angrily watching backstage in a suit.
Seth Rollins will break his silence in an interview with Michael Cole later tonight. We’ll also see a 6-Man Tag Team Match with The Wyatt Family taking on Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. The announcers wonder if anyone will team with Ambrose and Reigns.

Seth Rollins breaks his silence about his assault on The Shield
Michael Cole is in the ring, which is decorated with a black carpet. Two chairs are set up. Michael Cole introduces Seth Rollins to the ring, and he comes out to new music in a suit. A “You sold out” chant breaks out.
Michael Cole tries to start the interview, but Rollins stops him. Rollins doesn’t understand what all the controversy is about. Is it about what he did last week because that wasn’t a big deal to him. He was just doing what’s best for business… for his business. The Shield, the greatest faction in the history of the WWE, created by him. Rollins asks if Cole thinks he doesn’t have the right to destroy his own creation. It takes an architect, a mastermind to create something like The Shield. Do you think Dean Ambrose is in anyway responsible for that? Ambrose is a lunatic. Left to his own devices, he’d be face down in a ditch. As for Roman Reigns, the golden boy, you’ll never see anger and fury in a man like him, but without someone to harness and control it, he’s worthless. Ambrose and Reigns are nothing without him. They owe him for every ounce of success they have ever achieved.
Cole says that many will argue that The Shield was about three individuals who came together to form an awesome team. Rollins says they’ll find out later on tonight when the remnants of The Shield have a pathetic last hurrah against The Wyatt Family. Rollins asks why everyone is surprised. He took The Shield as high as it could go. They conquered the world. At Payback, they beat Evolution in a clean sweep. From every experience in life, you should learn something. He learned something from Evolution. To be a success in business, you have to evolve and adapt. The crowd boos Rollins and chants, “You sold out!” Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns are watching backstage. Rollins says he bought in to the Evolution of Seth Rollins. Another thing they won’t admit is that it took a lot of guts to do what he did last week, but everyone is fixated on the fact that he “betrayed” his brothers. Maybe to Ambrose and Reigns, they were brothers. To him, they were just business partners, and he severed a business relationship. For two years, every night, he came out here and put his fist out, saying, “Believe in The Shield.” However, every night he really meant that everyone should start believing in Seth Rollins!
Rollins says that’s it before asking if that’s all Cole wants to hear. Rollins then mentions that he remembers Dean Ambrose saying that they’d let him say his peace before kicking the hell out of him. Rollins throws his chair out of the ring before saying that he’s said his peace. Cole quickly leaves the ring as Rollins wonders where The Shield is.
