Triple H’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. RAW will kick off with the much delayed HHH v. Curtis Axel encounter.

HHH v. Curtis Axel w/ Paul Heyman

HHH starts off strong by backing Curtis into the corner and unloading with punches. The referee backs him off only to have HHH run right back and toss several kicks. Cover, but Axel kicks out.

“No Chance in Hell”. Mr. McMahon’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. HHH continues the fight and applies a side headlock. Curtis fights free only to be tossed out of the ring.

Vince walks to the bell area and asks for it to be wrong. Justin Roberts is forced to announce Curtis as the winner. The match decision is a disqualification. Vince walks right back up the ramp.

Winner via DQ: Curtis Axel

HHH walks over to Justin Roberts and commands for the match to be restarted. As COO that power does reside in his hands.

HHH v. Curtis Axel v2.0

Trips goes in for another headlock, but Vince quickly walks back down to the ring. This time he tells Roberts to stop the match as a result of a forfeit. Vince walks back up the ramp.

Winner via Forfeit: Curtis Axel

HHH heads back out to Roberts. This time he demands that as the COO the match be restarted as a 60 minute Iron Man Match.

Before the match can begin, Vince is back at ringside. He tells Curtis to get out of the ring. Vince grabs the ring bell and tells the timekeeper that he is going to need another one. Vince takes the bell and microphone and walks to the back. HHH is left fuming in the ring.

Triple H is in the back with Stephanie. HHH is fired up. Stephanie is crying and pleads with HHH to calm down. She begs for him not to hurt her father. HHH says that she will have to go find him then because if he talks to Vince it will not end well.

Kane v. Dean Ambrose

A replacement bell has not yet been found, so the match starts without one. Kane takes it to Ambrose at the start and connects with a dropkick. Cover, but Dean kicks out. Kane backs him into the corner but gets reversed and met with a few shoulder thrusts. Ambrose is whipped into the ropes and caught in midair for a backbreaker. Kane whips Dean hard into the corner. Kane lifts Dean back up for another backbreaker. Kane stretches Ambrose’s back over his knee.

A referee runs down to ringside with a new bell. The crowd cheers.

Kane and Dean brawl to the outside of the ring. Dean connects with a punch and then jumps off the steel steps at Kane. The Big Red Machine responds with an uppercut.

Back from the break Kane fights back to his feet. Ambrose delivers a few punches and a running dropkick. Cover, but Kane kicks out. Ambrose gets on Kane’s back and twists back to stretch out the monster’s leg. Dean jumps to the second rope, but Kane wraps his hand around the Shield member. Kane is at first batted away, but then tosses Ambrose across the ring.

Ambrose runs the ropes into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Kane. Dean leaps over Kane for a sunset flip, but is instead pulled back up to his feet. Kane slips the feet out from under Ambrose. Sidewalk Slam and a cover, but Dean kicks out.

Kane climbs to the top turnbuckle for his arm lariat. Ambrose follows after to try and halt the maneuver. Kane pushes him down to the mat and leaps. Kane connects with the lariat and looks for the chokeslam.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins hit the ring to save their teammate. Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton run down to make the save. The Shield members are tossed out of the ring as the match ends in a disqualification.

Winner via Disqualification: Kane

****Commercial****

Bryan and Orton are arguing in the back. Kane tells Bryan to stop picking this fight. Bryan thinks that Kane is saying Bryan can’t take Orton. They both have matches against Shield members tonight. Orton tells Bryan that he could take him. Vickie walks up with Brad Maddox and announce that the two of them will be taking on Rollins and Reigns for the Tag Titles at Payback. Kane is pleased, until Vickie announces that it is actually Orton and Bryan that will fight for the Titles because they defeated the Shield via DQ on Smackdown. They walk away as Kane is furious. Vickie tells Kane not to worry; he will be getting a match against Dean Ambrose due to his recent DQ victory. Kane says that he has always liked Vickie and scoops her up for a hug.

The Miz v. Cody Rhodes

Wade Barrett is on commentary for this match.

Miz pushes Cody into the corner and connects with a splash. Miz climbs to the top turnbuckle and leaps into the ring. Cody rolls out of the way and attacks his leg. Rhodes stomps on the gut of Miz and then takes a moment to gain his composure. Rhodes lifts up Miz and drops him on his leg. Cover, but Miz kicks out.

Cody gets behind Miz and stretches out his ankle. Rhodes continues the attack on that area in order to limit the Miz from utilizing the Figure Four. Cover, but Miz kicks out. Rhodes tries to lift up Miz for a slam but Miz counters into the Figure Four.

Winner: The Miz

After the match Miz is hobbling from the attack to his legs. Wade looks to capitalize with a cheap shot. Instead, Paul Heyman walks out onto the ramp. He announces that even though Fandango cannot compete on Sunday there will be a three-way match for the Title. It will be Wade Barrett v. The Miz v. Curtis Axel for the Intercontinental Championship at Payback. Curtis makes his way onto the ramp and is handed a microphone. He says that the perfect ending to the match on Sunday will be the crowning of Curtis Axel as the new IC Championship.

A promo airs revealing that Mark Henry will make his RAW return next Monday.

Stephanie is in an office with Vince. He says that he heard her say that he isn’t getting older. Also, he is upset that HHH made her cry. Stephanie says that Vince is the one who made her cry. Vince says that family or not, business comes first. Vince does the best thing for business every single time. Vince says that he has a show to run. Stephanie is left to her thoughts.

Chris Jericho makes his way down to the ring to address the crowd. He puts over his opponent for the Payback PPV on Sunday, CM Punk. The crowd begins a chant for the missing talent. Jericho says that the reason Punk is so damn good is because he actually believes that he is the best in the world. Jericho says that it is the same as when he himself says that he is the best in the world at what he does. Jericho says that is why they are so evenly matched. He knows that everyone in the audience will appreciate the match. It is Jericho v. Punk Part III. Jericho promises that Punk will get his best. Jericho claims that he needs to beat Punk at Payback. No matter what happens, after the match neither of the competitors will every ever be the same again.

Dolph Ziggler’s music hits and the much-missed World Heavyweight Champion finally makes his RAW return. Langston and AJ flank his side. Dolph says that he suffered a concussion shortly after receiving the Title. Ziggler says that it was obvious that many didn’t feel that he deserved the Title. Ziggler says that he is going to prove to Alberto Del Rio that he is better than anyone in the business. Ziggler says that it all goes down this Sunday.

Jericho cuts him off and says that he is stepping ahead of himself. Jericho says that Sunday is a long time anyway. We are here on Monday Night RAW. Jericho invites Dolph to shake off his ring rust and come down for a match against Y2J. Ziggler grants Jericho the match – against Big E. Langston.

Chris Jericho v. Big E. Langston w/ Dolph Ziggler & AJ Lee

Back from the break the match is already underway. Langston attacks Jericho from behind outside of the ring. Back inside the ring Langston tries for a cover. Jericho kicks out. Langston clutches Jericho’s shoulder. Jericho tosses Langston out of the ring and the crowd roars. Jericho is limping around as a result of a tweaked knee suffered earlier in the match. Jericho connects with a baseball slide that knocks Langston back out of the ring. Jericho follows after and kicks him in the back and delivers a few punches. Langston fights back and throws Jericho shoulder first into the steel steps. Jericho is rolled back into the ring. Cover, but Jericho kicks out.

Jericho is backed into the corner and hit with several shoulder thrusts. Langston stands over Jericho and delivers a few kicks. Langston charges at Jericho in the corner, but Jericho moves out of the way and tries for a roll up. Langston covers Jericho, but Jericho kicks out.

Langston picks up Jericho and drops him for several backbreakers. Cover, but Chris kicks out. Langston lifts his foe up and punches him in the gut. Jericho counters a splash and climbs up the turnbuckle. Chris leaps for a huge crossbody. Cover, but Langston kicks out.

Alberto Del Rio runs down to the ring and attacks Dolph Ziggler from behind. Ricardo Rodriguez joins him on the ramp. Langston is distracted which allows Jericho to capitalize with a Codebreaker. This match is over.

Winner: Chris Jericho

Sin Cara v. Antonio Cesaro

Zeb Colter is on commentary for this match. Presumably because both competitors are foreigners.

Cesaro tosses Cara out of the ring at the start. He gets back in and flips around for an arm drag. He attempts another hip toss but Cesaro knocks the feet out from under him. Cesaro stomps on Cara and then squashes his head. Cesaro continues to stomp. Cesaro tosses Cara behind him for a release slam. Cesaro continues the attack on the head area of Cara before stomping on his gut. Cesaro gets behind Cara for a headlock.

Cesaro charges at Cara but is caught with a kick. Cara flips around Cesaro for a tilt-a-whirl headscissor that the fans enjoy. Cara with a roll up, but Cesaro kicks out. Cesaro grabs Cara and whips him around before signaling for the end. Cesaro hits the Neutralizer and this match is over.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

Zeb Colter sounds very impressed with Antonio Cesaro’s showing. Zeb is careful to point out that Cesaro migrated to this country legally.

Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox are in the back for a Hardee’s product placement. Vince walks into the shot and isn’t pleased that Vickie made an encounter between Cena and Ryback later on RAW. Vince tells Vickie that she needs to think as well as she eats. Brad Maddox suggests that the Lumberjacks for their PPV match come down tonight during the encounter to ensure the competitors won’t be injured tonight. Vince is pleased. Team Brickie for the win.

Randy Orton w/ Daniel Bryan v. Roman Reigns w/ Seth Rollins

As the action gets underway Randy Orton takes control. He leaps and drops a knee and goes for a cover. Reigns rolls out of the ring. Orton follows after as Rollins watches on. Orton slams Reigns head into the apron and then drops him into the barricade. Orton grabs Reigns and rolls him back into the ring. Cover, but Reigns kicks out.

Reigns is able to gain control and steps on the abdomen of Orton. Reigns delivers a headbutt and a punch.

Back from the break Reigns is in control. Orton punches free and delivers a headbutt. Reigns lifts him up and drops him on the top rope. Reigns runs the ropes and delivers a clothesline. Cover, but Orton kicks out. Reigns gets behind Orton for a rear headlock.

Orton fights back and is able to deliver a backbreaker. Roman climbs to the apron, so Orton looks to capitalize. Randy hits his signature suspended DDT.

Rollins runs towards Bryan for a cheap attack. Rollins then rolls in the ring and goes after Orton. Randy grabs him and looks for another DDT. Reigns grabs his partners leg to stop the move. Bryan runs into the ring and then leaps out for a suicide dive on Reigns and Rollins. The crowd erupts into a chorus of yes chants.

Winner: No Contest

Daniel Bryan v. Seth Rollins

After the referee declared the previous bout a no contest, the next match up quickly begins. Bryan takes control and begins to kick the back of Rollins and drop some elbows. Bryan then pulls back on the arm of Rollins and drops several more elbows. Rollins rolls out of the ring so Bryan connects with a baseball slide. Bryan then jumps on the apron and leaps out with a running knee. Orton walks over for support. Bryan rolls Rollins back into the ring and goes for the cover. Rollins kicks out. Rollins backs Bryan into the corner and delivers a few shoulder thrusts. Bryan fights back with some punches. Rollins trips the Goat up and tosses him head first into the second turnbuckle. Cover, but Bryan kicks out. Rollins gets on the back of Bryan and looks for a surfboard stretch. Rollins rocks back and lifts Bryan up into the air. Bryan fights free and kicks Rollins repeatedly in the knees. Bryan decides to return the favor and rocks back for a surfboard stretch of his own. Bryan pulls back on the neck to apply a chin lock. Bryan pulls back farther for a Dragon Sleeper with the legs of Seth still trapped. Rollins is just barely able to escape.

Back from the break, Rollins is behind Bryan for a headlock. Bryan fights back to his feet and escapes. Bryan is caught with a big clothesline. Cover, but Bryan kicks out. Rollins returns to the rear choke. Rollins and Bryan get to their feet and exchange blows. Bryan flips under and applies a half crab submission. Rollins is able to get to the bottom rope for the break.

Bryan catches his breath and gets back on his feet. Bryan charges for a big dropkick and follows with another one as he leaps up through the air. Cover, but Rollins kicks out. Bryan misses with a kick, which allows Rollins to respond with a roundhouse to the face. Cover, but Bryan kicks out.

Bryan sits up as Rollins begins to deliver some kicks. Bryan dodges but gets picked up for a German Suplex. Bryan escapes at first, but then gets suplexed into the turnbuckle. Cover, but Bryan kicks out.

Rollins back Bryan into the corner and then connects with a few splashes. Bryan retaliates by tossing Rollins out of the ring. Bryan charges for the suicide dive, but Rollins blocks and then climbs the turnbuckle. Rollins leaps for a kick but Bryan dodges. Bryan rolls through for a German suplex bridge. Rollins escapes but Is kicked square in the jaw. Cover, but Rollins kicks out.

Bryan climbs to the top turnbuckle. Rollins gets to his feet and knocks Bryan to a seated position. Rollins follows up so Bryan looks for a suplex. Rollins shifts his body and lands on top of Bryan. Daniel begins to bleed from the mouth.

Roman tries to interfere, but Orton comes up from behind and knocks Reigns off the apron. Bryan rolls up Rollins and this match is over.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

After the match Bryan begins to celebrate. Rollins looks for a late attack, but Orton gets into the ring to keep it from happening. Bryan and Orton look to have come to an understanding. They will take on The Shield for the Tag Titles on Sunday.

The Divas Champion Kaitlyn is in the ring. Her secret admirer is about to be revealed. She says she feels silly so she asks for the admirer to reveal himself.

Big E. Langston’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. He is dressed up and is carrying a bouquet of flowers. Kaitlyn looks hesitant as Langston makes his way into the ring. She asks if it is him and he nods. Langston asks for the mic. He takes a breath before beginning to speak. He says that he knows this is unexpected and this is hard for him especially considering what happened earlier in the night. He says that people only see him as Dolph’s heavy but he cares about more tan that. Langston cares about Kaitlyn. He says that he knows she is skeptical, but ever since he first met her and laid eyes on her she was it. Kaitlyn was all that he could think of and he didn’t know how to tell her until now. Langston drops the microphone and leans in for a kiss. Kaitlyn is confused. Langston dips her down and leans in for a kiss. He then drops her down to the mat.

AJ’s music hits and she skips down the ramp. Langston looks to leave and high fives AJ on his way out.

AJ asks is Kaitlyn feels hopeless and alone right now. AJ says that she spent the last year of her life letting men hurt her. Everyone used her and left her shattered like glass. AJ was missing her best friend during this time. Kaitlyn was too busy focusing on the Title to be there for her friend. Kaitlyn gets to her feet and calls AJ crazy. AJ responds by saying that Kaitlyn may beat her in the ring, but AJ will always win the mental manipulation game against Kaitlyn. AJ calls Kaitlyn trash. The Divas Champion begins to cry. AJ points out that no one in the crowd gives a damn about Kaitlyn. The only thing that Kaitlyn has which is worth much is the Title. AJ aims to take it after their match on Sunday. AJ teases that Kaitlyn won’t like how this story ends. AJ is about to get everything that she ever wanted.

AJ continues the verbal attack, but Kaitlyn has finally had enough. She charges and begins to unload on her Payback opponent. AJ rolls out of the ring. She blows Kaitlyn a kiss and then skips up the ramp. Kaitlyn is left crying on her knees in the ring.

A promo airs for the Wyatt Family.

Damien Sandow v. R-Truth

Justin Roberts announces that Hardee’s will sponsor this match. Sandow walks down to the ring with a microphone and discusses his recent feud with Sheamus. They will have a match against each other on the pre-show for the Payback PPV.

Jerry Lawler, notably laid up with a heart attack this fall, is forced to commentate this match with a cheeseburger lathered with six slices of bacon in front of him. I’m sure his doctors are pleased.

Sandow is strong at the offset going to work on Truth. He pulls him onto the apron and drops a few elbows before re-entering the ring. Sandow gets behind Truth for a headlock. Truth gets to his feet so Sandow sends him back down with a Russian Leg Sweep. Sandow drops and elbow and goes for the cover. Truth kicks out. Truth gets in a few clotheslines and a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Truth lifts Sandow up for a front buster and looks for a pin. Sandow kicks out.

Sandow slips behind Truth and delivers the Silencer. This match is over.

Winner: Damien Sandow

After the match Sheamus’ music hits and he makes his way out onto the ramp. Sheamus says he is out here to congratulate Sandow on his match tonight. Sheamus plugs their pre-show match on Sunday.

Stephanie is in the back and approaches an assistant. He tells him to find Vince and let him know that she has a business matter to discuss in their office. She finds another assistant and gives him a similar message to deliver to HHH. She smiles as the shot fades to commercial.

****Commercial****

Stephanie is talking to Vince in the office. Triple H walks in and is not pleased by the set up. HHH asks how Vince can get away with coming out and interfering in his match. Vince says because he is Vince McMahon. Stephanie screams and tells the two of them to hash it out. Vince refuses to apologize. Vince says that HHH is bigger than a match against Curtis Axel.

Vince tells HHH that few have accomplished the things that HHH has in the business. Vince wants HHH to be the man. He wants him to do the right thing every time, even if it means telling people to go to hell. Vince wants bigger things for HHH than a match against Curtis. HHH says that he gets it. Vince asks if HHH is going to apologize. Hunter refuses. Vince brushes it off, but instead gives HHH his match against Curtis Axel next week on RAW. HHH pauses and says that Vince is right so he doesn’t want the match. Vince disagrees and says that he would like to see the match. They start to again argue – this time with different vantage points.

Stephanie walks into the office and tells them to hug it out. Vince says he doesn’t hug men. Stephanie asks him to hug her instead. HHH gets a bit insulted that Vince won’t hug him. Stephanie corrals the moment into a family hug.

John Cena’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. The lumberjacks for the 3 Stages of Hell match on Sunday are already surrounding the ring for this segment. Ryback makes his entrance in an ambulance before roaring to life.

Cena has a microphone. He is frustrated that Ryback is not in the ring for their face-to-face encounter. Ryback responds but Cena cuts him off. Cena points out that these lumberjacks are out here to prevent an altercation. Cena puts over the rules for their Lumberjack Match on Sunday. Cena calls Ryback scared for staying on the stage.

Ryback says that he could tear through all thirty of those lumberjacks and everyone in attendance if he wanted to. Ryback tells John to trust him; he is standing on the ramp for Cena’s protection. Cena says that Ryback has sent several messages over the past several months. Cena says if he is trying to prove that he can cause damage, than John has noticed it.

Ryback says that he deserves to be the WWE Champion. Ryback points out several moments in his career when he should have won the Championship. Instead The Shield thwarted him on several occasions. Ryback even complains about the Hell in a Cell match he lost.

Cena points out that he gave Ryback his spot. Ryback counters by saying he became too good too quick. Ryback continues to put himself over until Cena tells him to shut up. Cena tells Ryback to man up and stop blaming others for his own failings.

Cena vows to walk out the PPV able to declare that, “the champ is here”.

Ryback says that Cena is full of crap. Ryback says that the legend of John Cena is going to end when he beats him at the PPV. Cena may have given Ryback his spot in the past, but now Ryback is going to take Cena’s spot.

Cena responds that, “Payback is a bitch”. Cena takes off his shirt and sets down the microphone. Cena tries to run out at Ryback but the lumberjacks don’t let him escape. Ryback charges towards the ring and can make his way in the ring. The lumberjacks all hit the ring as they struggle to keep the two men apart as RAW goes off the air.
