“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

The Miz is in the ring for another edition of Miz TV. Paul Heyman is in the ring with him. Heyman introduces himself as the legendary consultant of the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Miz thanks Heyman for coming to speak to him in the wasteland known as Kansas. Miz wants to talk about Money in the Bank. A “You Suck” chant picks up. Miz says he couldn’t possibly suck as he’s not from Kansas. The Money in the Bank Ladder Match is a career-altering match. The winner is guaranteed a championship match anytime and anywhere. The winner historically has an 85% success rate. Miz says he has a 100% success rate, having cashed in the contract twice. Miz says you have to wait for the perfect moment for the champion to be in a grueling match. When the champion can barely stand, that’s when you hit him. That person can catapult themselves into superstardom, which is what he did. Two-time Grand Slam Champion, TV host, etc.

The person that wins the contract will most likely cash in on the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Heyman says they will fail if and when they do. No matter the success rate, when the champion is Roman Reigns, that percentage goes down to zero. There are other matters to address. This Friday on SmackDown, The Tribal Chief will defend his title against Riddle, of all people.

Heyman begins to talk about how he’s aggravated and wanted a new stipulation put on, but he’s interrupted by Riddle, who comes out on his scooter. Riddle may be hearing voices like his best bro Randy, but he could’ve sworn he heard his name. Riddle wants to hear the news firsthand straight from the horse’s ass. Miz is furious that Riddle interrupted him two weeks in a row. They demand respect.

Heyman asks for decorum. Not only is he interrupting Heyman, but he’s also interrupting Miz TV. Heyman says Riddle has a set of balls on him. Riddle asks Miz how his balls are. For a guy that talks as much as Heyman, he doesn’t say much. Heyman and Reigns don’t know him or what he’s capable of, but they will this Friday. The Bloodline may have tried to end his career and may have ended Randy’s career, so he doesn’t care about the stipulations. The Tribal Chief will have to kill him to keep him from the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship, bro! Heyman cowers in fear. Heyman says Riddle has a lot of momentum going his way all in the name of his fallen bro, Randy Orton. That momentum will be stopped in its tracks by Roman Reigns.

Heyman respects Riddle, but he cannot beat Roman Reigns. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t think Riddle can beat his opponent tonight after he hears what he has to tell him. On behalf of the Tribal Chief, he arranged for a stipulation with WWE Management. If Riddle beats Reigns this Friday, he will be the new Undisputed Universal WWE Champion. When he loses to Reigns, and he will, then Riddle will never be able to challenge for the title ever again as long as Reigns is the champion. This is “do or die” on the Island of Relevancy.

Heyman now introduces the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, The Usos. The Usos come to the ring, and Riddle squares up to fight. The Street Profits come down to even the odds. Riddle stands in the ring with them. Montez Ford battles Jimmy Uso next.

Special Comment

Today marks 14 years to the day that I did my first recap for Wrestleview. It was a SmackDown from Fresno, California that saw Batista battle The Great Khali in the main event.

Over the last 14 years, I’ve recapped probably close to 1,000 shows (maybe more?), 5,000+ matches, done tons of podcasts and reviews, had a chance to meet and interview some great wrestlers, and have had a hell of a good time doing it the whole way.

A HUGE thank you to each and every reader of my recaps. Whether you agree or disagree with my opinions, I thank you for taking the time to read my work.

Thanks to the great staff of Wrestleview through the years, including Paul Nemer, our fantastic webmaster, Jerome Wilen, Roy Nemer, and, of course, Adam Martin! A huge thank you to my wife for putting up with the many nights reserved for recapping and for doing 150+ podcasts with me.

The Wrestleview Post-Raw show will return at the end of the month. With work and family obligations, it’s been tough to get it going. Until then, thanks for being there.

Here’s a link to my first recap. Luckily, I’ve gotten better… I hope.

Thanks for reading!
