“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
A video kicks off the show highlighting Seth Rollins burning down the Firefly Fun House last week on Raw.
The Raw video plays, and we go live into the arena to see a big pyrotechnics display.
“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair’s music hits, and the two-time Hall of Famer makes his way to the ring to a big ovation. Flair says there are some Cleveland Browns in the house. This town needs a champion now that LeBron James is gone, so The Nature Boy is in the house. Flair says his team is going to beat the hell out of Team Hogan at Crown Jewel. Hogan’s team has great pro wrestlers, but they’re nothing like his team. Flair has the last hand to play and tells a guy in the audience to tell his girlfriend that. Flair says he used to know the guy’s mother. The crowd lets out a big “WOO.” Flair says the final member of his team is a badass. He’s a limousine ridin’, jet flyin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin’ dealin’ son of a gun.

Drew McIntyre’s music hits, and he makes his return to Monday Night Raw. Flair looks pumped up. Flair says this is some real muscle. Flair says he can’t wait to see McIntyre put Ricochet in the same column the Browns are in. Flair makes an “L” sign with his hands and woos. McIntyre tells Flair to grab a seat and get a front row view. Things are going to get uncomfortable because he’s going to show everyone what he’s going to do to Team Hogan at Crown Jewel.

My god… if Ric Flair could stay healthy and not do crazy YouTube videos, he could come back on the road and be the greatest heel manager going in wrestling. That was a masterclass in being a heel. Classic Flair. The ridiculous thing about it was it was toned down too. #Raw

Rusev is seen walking backstage. He’ll be on The King’s Court, next.
-Commercial Break-
A promo with AOP is shown.
The King’s Court w/ special guest Rusev
Jerry “The King” Lawler is in the ring. Lawler says we’ve seen a lot of Bobby Lashley and Lana, but we haven’t heard from one person in particular. Lawler introduces Rusev to the ring.
Rusev makes his entrance, and he comes out looking a little emotionally exhausted, but he still smiles and high fives some fans. A “Rusev” chant lightly picks up. Lawler says usually what goes on in a marriage should stay in a marriage, but in this case Rusev, Lana, and Bobby Lashley are public figures. They have made everything public. It’s been salacious. Lawler doesn’t know how Rusev has sustained what has happened so far. Lawler says they have put out excuses for their behavior. Lana says Rusev sends too much money back to his family in Bulgaria, has interfered in her modeling contracts, and prevented her from spending money on herself. The crowd is giving the “WHAT” treatment. Rusev says Lawler is a Hall of Famer. Lawler asks for a response to what Rusev has seen.
Rusev says it is all Lashley’s fault. Bob Lashley has poisoned Lana’s brain and for that, he will be crushed. As far as Lana is concerned, he may be a fool, but he still wears his wedding ring because everyday he hopes and prays that they pass through this and live happily ever after.
Bobby Lashley appears on the screen with Lana by his side. Lashley says he wishes he could appear on The King’s Court, but his woman has needs. Lana has needs, and he’ll 100% take care of them. They’re at a restaurant. Lana says the food was delicious and feeds Lashley before smushing some on his nose. Lana says Rusev probably recognizes this restaurant… maybe he doesn’t. She asked Rusev multiple times to take her here, but he wouldn’t. Her man Lashley takes her here and she loves him. Lashley says as the saying goes, “Out with the old, in with the new.” Lashley professes his love for Lana.

For once, the Lashley, Lana, and Rusev thing wasn't cringeworthy television. I loved Jerry Lawler here leading the whole thing. Just goes to show how valuable the old timers are when used right (see Ric Flair earlier tonight). Of course the story is still bad, but still. #RAW

Humberto Carrillo looks impressed backstage. Charly Caruso comes up and asks for his reaction to the match he just saw. Carrillo says he has respect for Sin Cara. When you face Andrade, you also face Zelina Vega. Andrade is a future World Champion… unless he beats him to it. Carrillo wouldn’t be a champion like Seth Rollins playing with fire.

Rey Mysterio makes his way to the ring with his arm in a sling from the attack by Brock Lesnar a few weeks ago on the Raw Season Premiere. Mysterio greets Cleveland. Mysterio says he’s been training with Cain Velasquez to get him ready for the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel. Mysterio wants to take some time from the training to come out live and say “thank you.” Mysterio thanks everyone from him, from his son Dominick, and from his entire family. The outpouring love he and his family have experienced… a light “You deserve it” chant picks up. This is back from when he was thinking about retiring, but the outpouring a love they have shown, he is a man that has so much to be thankful for. Mysterio is honored by the love they’ve shown for him and his entire family. That’s why he wants to say straight from his heart that the people are his family. That’s why they’ll all celebrate together at Crown Jewel when Cain Velasquez wins the WWE Title and puts another scar on the face of that bastard Brock Lesnar.
“Ladies and gentlemen…” Paul Heyman appears on the screen. Heyman says greets Mysterio and says there is a misunderstanding. Would he really speak these words if his client were live in Cleveland tonight? Of course he wouldn’t. Lesnar can’t be live at Monday Night Raw because he’s been drafted to Friday Night SmackDown. Heyman says he can’t be drafted anywhere. He’s just a humble advocate here to deliver a message to Mysterio. Mysterio lives in this perceptual prison that has sentenced him to the misbelief that someone can handle Lesnar. The person Mysterio picked is his son’s godfather is Cain Velasquez. Mysterio thinks Velasquez will do the same thing he did 9 years ago at Crown Jewel. Every single morning for the past 9 years, Lesnar has seen the scar carved in his face and soul by Cain Velasquez. For every single solitary day of those 9 years, Lesnar has been salivating like a beast lusting for revenge. That revenge comes on October 31 at Crown Jewel when Mysterio serves up Velasquez on a silver platter like dinner to his beast. Mysterio better get this into his thick head.

Mysterio shouts that Heyman needs to get this through his big thick head. Mysterio shouts in Spanish, and Shelton Benjamin cuts him off. Benjamin says he needs to get something through his head. Mysterio and his son get annihilated by the beast and his buddy Cain Velasquez waltzes in because Mysterio can’t defend himself or his son. He gets a WWE Title opportunity for that? Mysterio says this is a family thing. Benjamin says he has a secret for Mysterio. He has a buddy. His buddy IS “The Beast” Brock Lesnar. At the University of Minnesota, he trained Brock Lesnar and roomed with him. Lesnar is his family. Aside from Heyman, no one knows Lesnar better than him. Mysterio says Benjamin has it twisted. Benjamin says he’ll test a theory and see what happens if he pushes Mysterio around. Benjamin shoves him a few times. Benjamin shoves him and asks if that’s a US Title opportunity. Benjamin asks where Mysterio’s buddy is.

Good main event and a fun way to introduce the Street Profits to a bigger audience (though the third hour has been rough lately). Not sure why they advertised it all night as a six-man tag… but that's a #WWE thing. Overall good stuff. Good Owens run in as well. #RAW

Overall this was a really good episode of #RAW. Now that the concentration is on #SmackDown, Paul Heyman has a lot of unestablished stars to play with. This could become a really great period for #RAW in terms of creativity and new stars. Time will tell if Vince can stay off it.
