“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
Referees are seen in Finn Bálor’s locker room. The room is in disarray. Bálor is apparently missing. NXT General Manager William Regal removed Bálor from the show tonight.
The Velveteen Dream is in the ring and says, “New levels, new devils.” In his experience, sometimes you’re just dealing with the same old demons. None of that matters because he’s been stood up by a Demon in Finn Bálor.
NXT Champion Adam Cole interrupts him. A lot of people assume that the winner of the Bálor vs. Dream match would determine the No. 1 Contender for his title. Cole knows what Dream is doing. Dream is trying to weasel his way into an NXT Championship opportunity. Dream will never be champion because Cole is his reality. Cole doesn’t know what happened to Finn Bálor, but he knows exactly what will happen to Dream.
All of a sudden, Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong attack Dream from behind. Cole gets in the ring, and they triple-team him. Eventually NXT North American Champion Keith Lee runs down and wipes all three men out. Lee gives Cole a pounce into the other Undisputed ERA members and helps Dream up. The Undisputed ERA retreats up the ramp.
We’ll have three NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament matches tonight. Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae will also be live.

Not much of a tag team match with Kai and Gonzalez coming out on top. I like the look of Blackheart, but in the ring she's still got a ways to go. So does Gonzalez.
On the flipside, I'm impressed that they're using that Drake Maverick video. Really got me invested. #WWENXT

Good match with Drake Maverick and Jake Atlas. I think that's about as emotional as you can make an empty arena, no atmosphere match just because of the real life story behind it, which they certainly exploited to get you interested. It worked. #WWENXT

Nothing match with Mia Yim and Jessi Kamea. I'm not sure Charlotte Flair was telling the truth when she said Yim is a good hand. I haven't seen her ever have a match that I've been wowed by yet. #WWENXT

Weird main event with the lack of rules making this really stupid. If there was a crowd there and they were cheering, it'd be one thing. But when there's no distractions and you're just watching with no crowd, it comes off as silly. #WWENXT

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm not feeling Velveteen Dream's chase for the #NXTChampionship so far. He pinned Adam Cole in the tag match, after Dexter Lumis really did all the work, and it felt super anticlimactic. #WWENXT
