In an interview posted on WWE.com Thursday, former WWE Superstar Serena Deeb revealed that she has joined the WWE as a coach at the Performance Center.
Deeb last appeared in the WWE as a competitor in the Mae Young Classic Tournament last year. Deeb had last competed in the WWE back in 2010.
Deeb talked in the interview about how the opportunity to be a coach at the Performance Center came about in full detail.
“The offer presented itself initially almost a year ago. It was pre-Mae Young Classic. I knew of the tournament and was aware of it, and then I was contacted by the company to see if I had any interest in being one of the talent in the tournament, but it was also coupled with the idea of potentially coming in as a coach following the tournament. The tournament was the first stop on the tracks, and following that, I came back in a week in the fall for an official coaching tryout, and following that, it was pretty quickly offered.”
Deeb will be working with Sara Amato in training the female talent at the Performance Center. She is not sure if she will be working more with the new recruits or the more experienced talent. Deeb did say she was excited about possibly working with the newer recruits. It’s also expected that Deeb will be teaching her own class down the line.
