Predictions from the Faculty
WWE Night of Champions Edition
September 16, 2012
Predictions by: Wrestleview Columnists and Staff
Written by: Mr. V of Wrestleview.com
Introduction
Welcome to the Round #16 of “Predictions from the Faculty” (Season #4). This weekend, we gathered our thoughts for the upcoming WWE Pay-Per-View, as we will provide our selections for Night of Champions! The show will be live inside the TD Garden in Boston, MA.
The card is currently booked to have seven* matches. The card was announced as of Saturday, September 15th. If they add any matches after Saturday evening then the matches will not count.
(*- The YouTube Battle Royal will NOT count this week, as we don’t know the participants. However, we will still predict the United States Championship Match.)
In case you are new to reading these predictions, here is the format. Each Pay-Per-View a few of the columnists, recappers, and radio hosts at Wrestleview provide predictions on who they think will win the matches. We accumulate the records throughout the end of the Faculty’s year (in this case, the 2013 Royal Rumble or WrestleMania XXIX as we are unsure of the decision).
What makes this entirely different to others is that you, the reader, can provide your picks for a spot to have yours posted in an upcoming PPV. You can participate by contacting me in any means under the “Dismissal” portion of this piece. The winner among the “Wrestleview Students” will win an opportunity to post their picks as a “Student of the Week” (if they outright defeat the reigning Students of the Week). We all thank you for your participation.
Tie-Breakers will determine standings!
I have decided to prevent some tiebreakers, I will issue points to Title Matches that are predicted correctly. There will be six championship matches on the card, so the maximum amount of points to go along with the win/loss standing will be SIX points. Also, if I throw out a pick for a championship, then obviously no bonus will be counted for that particular match.
But wait, to the Wrestleview “students”, there is more!
I got approval for this decision, and for the SECOND time in our four seasons the students will compete for PRIZES!!! That is right; we felt that your loyalty to the article shall be rewarded. However, the prizes* will not be handed out until the FINAL PPV Prediction of the season (which will be WWE’s Royal Rumble 2013 or WrestleMania XXIX). So not only will one get a chance to earn a Gold Star and be a part of this game, but it will be for a competition.
*Prizes go out to the top three (the most picked correctly and if needed tiebreaker points) positions and the worst (most matches picked incorrectly with the fewest tiebreaker points).

Predictions for TNA No Surrender
(Note: N/A means that a person’s picks are “not available” at the moment)
Non-Title Matches
Singles Match
Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler
Nick G. – ZIGGY.
Evan O. – RANDY ORTON.
Dave S. – N/A.
Anthony V. – ZIGGLER. Will he get a big win over a top guy in a PPV? The Money in the Bank Winner needs that momentum. Orton gains nothing if he wins.
Josh B. – DOLPH.
Darragh O. – DOLPH ZIGGLER.
Greg M. – N/A.
Matt O. – N/A.
Grash – N/A.
Jason N. – ZIGGLES.
Jose M. – N/A.
Mike T. – N/A.
Antonio D. – ZIGGLER wins and the feud continues.
Jordan B. – DR. ZIGGLES.
CONSENSUS: ZIGGLER 7-1. The vast majority of the staff agrees that Ziggler should get the victory over Orton in this non-title match at Night of Champions.
Championship Matches
Singles Match for the WWE Divas Championship
Layla (c) vs. Kaitlyn
Nick G. – LAYLA.
Evan O. – LAYLA.
Dave S. – N/A.
Anthony V. – LAYLA. If the reports that Eve should have won the battle royal a couple weeks ago were true, then I can’t see Kaitlyn winning yet. Layla wins, but Kaitlyn is the one to watch.
Josh B. – LAYLA.
Darragh O. – KAITLYN.
Greg M. – N/A.
Matt O. – N/A.
Grash – N/A.
Jason N. – The Pony (Neigh!) (KAITLYN).
Jose M. – N/A.
Mike T. – N/A.
Antonio D. – KAITLYN in the upset, possibly nudging Layla towards a heel turn.
Jordan B. – LAYLA.
CONSENSUS: LAYLA 5-3. Though Kaitlyn is a good choice to win her first Divas Championship, we slightly gave the nod to the Champion in what could be a good match.
Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
R-Truth and Kofi Kingston (c’s) vs. Kane and Daniel Bryan
Nick G. – DBRY~!KANE.
Evan O. – KANE and DANIEL BRYAN.
Dave S. – N/A.
Anthony V. – KANE and BRYAN. Now the titles will be featured because of that tremendous storyline.
Josh B. – BRYAN & KANE.
Darragh O. – DANIEL BRYAN and KANE.
Greg M. – N/A.
Matt O. – N/A.
Grash – N/A.
Jason N. – TEAM HUG IT OUT.
Jose M. – N/A.
Mike T. – N/A.
Antonio D. – ANGER MANAGEMENT; they are involved in possibly the best program in the company these days.
Jordan B. – TEAM ANGER MANAGEMENT.
CONSENSUS: BRYAN and KANE 8-0. The Boomin’ Truth Era will come to a crashing halt after this match is over. Look for a Tag Team Title change at Night of Champions.
Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship
Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. “The Field”
Note: “The Field” will whoever won the YouTube Battle Royal.
Nick G. – HAIL CESARO~!
Evan O. – ANTONIO CESARO.
Dave S. – N/A.
Anthony V. – CESARO. I think Zack Ryder wins the battle royal if he is in it and falls victim to someone that is still VERY European.
Josh B. – CESARO.
Darragh O. – ANTONIO CESARO.
Greg M. – N/A.
Matt O. – N/A.
Grash – N/A.
Jason N. – #5LANGUAGES (HEYYY!!!)
Jose M. – N/A.
Mike T. – N/A.
Antonio D. – ANTONIO CESARO wins in five languages.
Jordan B. – CESARO.
CONSENSUS: CESARO 8-0. At the end of this contest, we predict that Cesaro will say “No Chance in Hell” in five languages.
Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
The Miz (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Sin Cara
Nick G. – MIZ.
Evan O. – THE MIZ.
Dave S. – N/A.
Anthony V. – THE MIZ. At least I hope. My true prediction is that Rhodes tries to go after Rey’s Mask, Cara hits his finisher on Rhodes to protect Rey, and The Miz gives Sin Cara a Skull-Crushing Finale.
Josh B. – SIN CARA.
Darragh O. – THE MIZ.
Greg M. – N/A.
Matt O. – N/A.
Grash – N/A.
Jason N. – THE MIZ.
Jose M. – N/A.
Mike T. – N/A.
Antonio D. – THE MIZ retains.
Jordan B. – THE MIZ.
CONSENSUS: Seven staff members predict that THE MIZ will retain (one picked Sin Cara). The Miz still has some charisma that can carry on to the next few weeks. Sin Cara may have a chance because he could possibly catch Rhodes off guard. No staff member predicted Mysterio or Rhodes as the winner.
Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Sheamus (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
Nick G. – SHEAMUS.
Evan O. – SHEAMUS.
Dave S. – N/A.
Anthony V. – SHEAMUS. Del Rio is just not believable and it would be a step in the wrong direction if Del Rio is booked the winner. Sheamus uses his new-found submission hold for the win.
Josh B. – SHEAMUS.
Darragh O. – SHEAMUS.
Greg M. – N/A.
Matt O. – N/A.
Grash – N/A.
Jason N. – ADR.
Jose M. – N/A.
Mike T. – N/A.
Antonio D. – This is a tricky one. While I believe Sheamus’ run has gotten a bit stale, the WWE seems to want him to hold on to the belt. But I’m going to go with my wishes and say ALBERTO DEL RIO wins one for Ricardo.
Jordan B. – SHEAMUS LIPSCHITZ.
CONSENSUS: SHEAMUS 6-2. Though Del Rio may win a battle with the lack of a Brogue Kick, Sheamus has other finishers (including the
Singles Match for the WWE World Championship
CM Punk (c) vs. John Cena
Nick G. – PUNK.
Evan O. – CM PUNK.
Dave S. – N/A.
Anthony V. – CENA…by countout. If the WWE really wants Punk booed out of the building they have Punk walkout on Cena in Cena’s hometown (with the advice by Heyman) in the main event. The WWE Universe will be read to voice their displeasure on the Internet.
Josh B. – PUNK.
Darragh O. – CM PUNK.
Greg M. – N/A.
Matt O. – N/A.
Grash – N/A.
Jason N. – PUNK.
Jose M. – N/A.
Mike T. – N/A.
Antonio D. – Lots of people are giving it to Cena because of the hometown crowd. However I don’t think the WWE will take the belt off Punk just yet, he needs a bit of a heel run with it. CM PUNK
Jordan B. – JOHN CENA.
CONSENSUS: PUNK 6-2. Punk will continue to be “The Best in the World”, as the majority of the staff predicted that Punk will retain.
