An article published by The New York Times documented the story of a man who was caught up in a scam by someone impersonating WWE star Alexa Bliss.
Alfred Mancinelli, one of many victims of similar cons over the years, was said to have given up nearly $1 million in his retirement savings and granddaughter’s college fund to the impostor and other fraudsters, leading to conflict with his family before passing away at the age of 79.
One such conflict saw his son Chris attempt to move the remaining $100,000 to a safe account, only for Alfred to sue in order to receive the funds back.
This is the latest in a string of WWE talents impersonated for the sake of a scam, a situation that was addressed by Raw GM Adam Pearce last August.
Bliss, a former WWE Women’s Champion who last competed for the company in January 2023 before welcoming her first child with husband Ryan Cabrera that November, recently did voiceover work for the Netflix series The Queen of Villains and is yet to return to action as of this writing.
