MVP addresses The Hurt Business being ‘killed off’ by WWE

During a recent virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, former MVP addressed recent speculation about WWE faction The Hurt Business possibly appearing outside the company.

Noting the status of the group following the end of their respective runs with WWE, the former United States Champion said:

The Hurt Business is dead, and it was killed off by the powers that be at WWE. But I can say this: Myself, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin—we’re talking amongst ourselves about what we want to do going forward.

I’ll just say, ‘Stay tuned.’ Stay tuned. Me, Bobby, and Shelton have been talking about what we want to do, and again, I’ll say, ‘Stay tuned.’

The contracts of MVP and Lashley came to an end on August 16, with Shelton Benjamin having been released from the company in September 2023.

The situation was previously addressed by Dave Meltzer on the 9/2 edition of the Wrestling Observer, noting the possibility of the group appearing as The Hurt Syndicate:

A lot of people think Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin, reviving their Hurt Business gimmick as The Hurt Syndicate, will end up (in AEW). They are all free to appear and obviously it comes down to Tony Khan.
