Fightful Select has reported that WWE is “comfortable” with Giulia remaining in Japan while healing from an injury sustained at the inaugural Marigold event, Marigold Fields Forever.
The injury occurred during a match that saw the former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion team with Utami Hayashishita against Bozilla and Sareee (formerly Sarray of NXT).
The timetable for Giulia’s return to action remains up in the air depending on how the bone fracture in her right wrist heals.
Following an appearance in the crowd during NXT Stand & Deliver, the joshi star was reported to be making her debut on the brand around the time of Heatwave on Sunday, July 7, though sources have noted that Giulia is not expected to be exclusive to WWE or NXT “for quite a while, if at all.”
A former mainstay of the STARDOM promotion in Japan, Giulia was announced as part of the roster for the upstart promotion Dream Star Fighting Marigold, started by STARDOM founder Rossy Ogawa.
