WWE files trademark on ‘New Catch Republic’

Following a segment on the 2/16 SmackDown with Tyler Bate and Peter Dunne, a trademark has officially been filed by WWE for “New Catch Republic.”

In the segment, the name was pitched by Bate to Dunne, who seemingly agreed to the moniker going forward.

Per Fightful, the trademark has been filed with intention of covering “the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service,” among other purposes.

Bate and Dunne will challenge Finn Balor and Damian Priest for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at the Elimination Chamber PLE, taking place Saturday, February 24 from the Optus Stadium in Perth, West Australia and airing at 5:00 AM Eastern on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network internationally.
