WWE CEO Nick Khan spoke at the MoffettNathanson’s Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference on Thursday and covered a number of topics, including an upcoming WWE live event in India, a potential change in night for SmackDown, and the feasibility of additional content.
Back in November, a major event in Hyderabad was being planned, but was postponed in late-December due to the Sony-Zee merger, with Sony being a broadcast partner of WWE’s.
During the conference, Khan confirmed that the event was back on for September of this year, but did not give an exact date, nor did he confirm whether the event will air on the WWE Network or on Peacock.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Khan brought up the idea that WWE could “go any night of the week” as it pertains to content, bringing up SmackDown’s past history of alternating between Tuesday and Thursday nights prior to the deal with Fox.
This statement lines with comments made by Khan about potentially putting content every night of the week, providing unique content in the process.
