AJ Mendez (formerly AJ Lee in WWE) walked the picket line today as part of the Writers Guild of America strike, holding a sign in solidarity with the WGA that read “I became a writer to avoid math & people, but here I am”
Mendez, alongside Aimee Garcia and John Swetnam, co-wrote the film Blade of 47 Ronin, which was released in October 2022. Retiring from active competition in wrestling in 2015, Mendez recently made a return to the business as executive producer and color commentator on the current iteration of Women of Wrestling (WOW).
