Colby Corino reportedly a free agent again, status with WWE said to have changed

As first reported by Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net  and then Fightful, Colby Corino is once a free agent, yet again after his status with WWE has changed.

Colby reportedly signed a deal with WWE this past February and was expected to report to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Both reports note that Colby was offered a deal, which was agreed upon by both sides, but nothing was officially signed. He has wrestled in the NWA and ROH. He also made brief appearances in the now defunct WWE 205 Live.

If was further said that due to WWE reportedly entering into an unofficial “hiring freeze,” this affected Corino’s status with the company as WWE agreed to a transaction agreement with Endeavor. The merger with Endeavor/UFC, is expected to become official at the end of this year.

Colby is the son of Steve Corino, who currently works as a trainer and producer for NXT. Prior to NXT, Steve spent time in Ring of Honor and a in-ring performer and then a color-commentator alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Kelly.
