Vince McMahon reimburses WWE for hush money he paid out to cover up sexual allegations

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, Security and Exchange Commission documentation was filed by on Friday showing that Vince McMahon reimbursed the company the $17.5 million he paid out in hush money to cover up sexual allegations.

It was also noted that McMahon agreed to also reimburse the company for additional costs related to the investigation subsequent to January 31, 2023.

McMahon had announced his retirement back on July 21 of this year after the Wall Street Journal had reported the WWE Board of Directors was investigating him for using company funds as hush money payments for sexual assault allegations. Then back on January 6 of this year, McMahon used his power as the majority shareholder of WWE to insert himself back onto the Board of Directors, reshaping the board in order for him to be voted back in the position as Chairman of the company. McMahon said in a press release that he returned with the intention of helping with a sale of WWE.

The company plans to start the bidding process next month. McMahon is asking for $9 billion, even though the fair market value has been listed as $6.5 Billion.

Nick Khan remains the CEO and Triple H still remains head of creative content. Stephanie McMahon, who was co-CEO with Khan, resigned shortly after her father came back into power as Chairman of the Board.
