The WWE traffic accident lawsuit filed in June 2021 has been closed.
A jury trial took place in Florida Middle District Court regarding the lawsuit brought against WWE regarding a 2019 traffic accident in Tampa, Florida. The lawsuit was filed by Jackson Parsons, who was injured in the accident. The jury ultimately sided with Parsons and ruled that WWE had to pay Jackson $331,800, which is a percentage based on their own level of negligence in the incident.
The jury ruled that WWE’s negligence did cause Jackson’s injuries. However, Jackson’s own negligence was also a factor in the accident. The jury also decided Jackson held 65% of the negligence and WWE was responsible for the remaining 35%.
The incident allegedly occurred back in July 2019. Parsons alleged a van rented by WWE that was being driven by a WWE employee and prop expert, Gaitan Thomas, “who was on the job at the time” was involved in a motor vehicle accident with Parsons, who was riding his bicycle.
In the lawsuit Parsons claimed he “suffered physical injuries, pain-and-suffering, disability and the inability and loss of the capacity to lead and enjoy normal life, inconvenience, disfigurement, scarring and mental anguish.” Parsons also cited that he “suffered physical injuries, pain-and-suffering, disability and the inability and loss of the capacity to lead and enjoy a normal life, inconvenience, disfigurement, scarring and mental anguish,” while saying his injuries and suffering are permanent. Parsons further claimed that he has incurred past medical expenses and will incur future medical expenses on account of the motor vehicle accident, and that he has suffered “a loss of earnings and earning capacity, both in the past and in the future.”
Parsons was asking for $76,500.00 for pain and suffering, mental anguish and inconvenience as well as $401,500 for future pain and suffering.
The case was closed on March 7.
