Mandy Rose moved to alumni section of WWE’s website, more updates

WWE has quietly moved Mandy Rose to the alumni section of their website, confirming her release.

As of this writing, Fightful Select and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter have new updates regarding Rose.

Fightful Select is reporting things backstage seemed “very hasty” regarding Rose dropping the NXT Women’s Championship. Fightful Select claims they received word that Rose was going to lose the NXT Women’s Championship about 15 minutes before the show went live. It is being said those close to Rose claim she was in good spirits during the NXT broadcast and immediately following her release.

The same report from Fighful Select says there were some WWE sources that were trying to leak that Rose had requested her release two weeks ago. However it was stated that there is no indication this is true and has not been confirmed. Fightful Select further stated that Rose signed her deal with WWE back in 2019 and had two years left on her contract.

The Wrestling Observer reports a meeting was held after Performance Center Head Coach Matt Bloom informed Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels of the kind of the content Rose was posting to her FanTime website. The Observer say that Michaels’ immediate reaction was that they have to get the NXT Women’s Championship off of her [Rose] immediately. Creative plans were said then to have been changed for Perez to win the NXT Women’s Championship this past Tuesday, instead of at a later date, which was believed to have been at the upcoming January 10, 2023 NXT New Year’s Evil Special.

The Observer also said the feeling within WWE is that Rose significantly crossed the line with the kind of content she was posting on her FanTime page, as WWE officials previously promised sponsors a much more cleaner television show, which includes signed talent that represent the company.

The same update from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that right after Rose dropped the NXT Women’s Championship, she was released. There has been numerous reports that Rose was said to have been completely caught off-guard by her release.

It was also pointed out in the Wrestling Observer that Roses’ FanTime page has become lucrative and that she is making more money from the subscriptions than what she was being paid by WWE. There is no word on what her next move will be. It is believed she is under a 90-day non-complete clause because she was originally on the main roster, but moved to NXT. However, there has been no confirmation or further details on this. Also there are no updates on what WWE’s creative plans are for Toxic Attraction going forward. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne were part of the group with Rose as the leader.

As of this writing, WWE has not made an official statement on the release of Rose. However, Rose did comment on her release from the company through her FanTime Page.
