The following news has come out of Monday’s WWE Raw WrestleMania Backlash fallout show, that took place live on the USA Network, from the XL Center in Hartford, CT.
Alexa Bliss returned to WWE Raw on Monday night for the first time since Elimination Chamber in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia back on February 19.
Bliss squared off with Sonya Deville, and defeated her in under one minute with a DDT and her signature Twisted Bliss finisher. Bliss came out with her Lilly doll, but did not use any of her other “supernatural aspects” in what looked like her possibly returning back her original character prior the character she played in her association with “The Fiend”/Bray Wyatt.
In an interview last month, Bliss said she was ready to return to WWE, and was just waiting for the phone call to return. Bliss also noted Bliss said she is 100 percent healthy and has been ready to return to the ring since before her last appearance at Elimination Chamber.
Bliss and Singer Ryan Cabrera were married on April 9 at a ceremony in Palm Desert, California.
In storyline, Sonya Deville is no longer a WWE official. However, she still remains on the WWE roster as an active Superstar.
During Monday’s Raw, WWE official Adam Pearce attempted to explain something to Deville, but she was only interested in who her opponent was going to be later on the show. She then cut Pearce off Pearce and said to him she did not care who it was. After she came to the ring, Pearce said that he tried to tell Sonya backstage that the investigation behind her recent actions concluded, and she was fired as a WWE official. However, he said she was still a WWE superstar, and her opponent was Alexa Bliss.
In storyline, Deville had been “under investigation” over the past several weeks putting herself into a Raw Women’s Championship Match against Bianca Belair, by tricking her (Belair) to signing a contract for a title defense, only for Deville to have attacked Belair, and sign the contract herself. Deville was unsuccessful in capturing the title back on the April 25 episode of Raw.
A steel cage match has been announced for next week’s WWE Raw episode.
Bobby Lashley and Omos will square off in a Steel Cage Match on next Monday’s episode of Raw live from Norfolk, Virginia. Lashley issued the challenge in a backstage promo, during Raw, and the match was made official later in the show.
Omos defeated Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash on Sunday, in their rematch from WrestleMania 38 Night 2, which Lashley won.
