It was announced at the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday in Albany, NY that Christian will challenge Alberto Del Rio in a Ladder match at WWE’s Extreme Rules PPV on May 1 to crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Christian won a 20 Man Battle Royal to earn the spot against Del Rio.
