According to Variety, “The Suicide Squad” starring WWE Superstar John Cena is expected to come out on top with a three-day gross of $25.65 million, in what is being referred to as “subdued domestic box office this weekend.”
It was also noted that the film is expected to fall short of previous industry predictions of a gross over $30 million in its first weekend. However, it was also stated by Variety that the film is still expected to top the box office by a margin of $10 million.
“The Suicide Squad” also stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba Joel Kinnaman and Sylvester Stallone. On Friday, the film opened with $12 million in 4,002 theaters. It has received favorable reviews from critics and general movie goers.
“The Jungle Cruise,” starring WWE Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt, in its second weekend is expected to bring in an additional $14.9 million, with its overall earnings so far up to $64.5 million.
