WWE SmackDown kicks off with clips of last week’s show. We see Daniel Bryan get the win vs. Jey Uso in a steel cage match where earned a Universal Championship match vs. Roman Reigns at FastLane.
Edge’s music hits as he makes his way down to the ring. He says tonight there is the contract signing but there are some things he needs to talk about. For the past few weeks, some people have spoken about him. Roman Reigns said that a man like Edge shouldn’t face a man like him. He has kids, he’s a family man, whatever excuses he has. But he finds it amusing because he picked up on something that flew over a lot of people’s heads. He says for weeks Roman said acknowledge me. To acknowledge him as the main event for WrestleMania. Edge said he made his choice and that was Roman. He says Roman is the head of the table but a head of the table on a show where Edge is the carpenter at.
And that brings him to Bryan as Roman mentioned Daniel. Edge says that last week Bryan mentioned he deserves to be in the main event of WrestleMania more than Edge because he wrestled more than him in the past 3 months, because he loves this business. Edge says when they were wrestling once a week, he was wrestling 4-5-6 times a week vs. The Undertaker, Mr. Perfect, The Undertaker, Terry Funk. Eddie Guerrero, over the time frame of four decades. He’s back not because he has to be but because he loves this.
Edge says like everyone else, he has to wait to see who wins at FastLane to know who he will face at WrestleMania. Out comes Daniel Bryan to the ring. Bryan says Edge got affected by what he said last week and that wasn’t even his intention. He says he was expecting Edge to respect him for the first time for having gone into business for himself.
Bryan says he has an infinite amount of respect for everything Edge has done. He sees how hard Edge has worked, how much he loves the business, how hard he fought to get back here. But to be completely honest, when he wanted to challenge Roman, it wasn’t about Edge. Bryan says he allowed himself to go into what might be his last WrestleMania on the back burner and that’s when he decided to put it all out there if this were to be his last one. He is going to give it everything he has to be in the main event of WrestleMania. And the thing is that Edge has his spot at WrestleMania, this isn’t about him. Bryan says if he wants to main event WrestleMania, he has to get the win vs. Roman at FastLane. And that is why he went into business for himself.
Edge says he should have made himself clearer. Roman has already beat Bryan at Elimination Chamber. And a win is a win. And he won the Rumble, a match which Bryan was in. He says he has mutual respect for Bryan, he just doesn’t like how Bryan did this. He says Bryan is better than this but he’s not better than him. Edge looks at Bryan as he leaves the ring.
The Street Profits, Dominik and Rey Mysterio vs. The Alpha Academy, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode
Gable, Otis, Ziggler and Roode attack The Street Profits, Dominik and Rey from behind as they are making their way down to the ring.
That was some promo between Edge and Daniel Bryan to start SmackDown. I do feel like we'll somehow get a triple threat match at WrestleMania but with creative being the way it is, you never know. #SmackDown

A fun first match of the night but what an impressive frog splash by Ford. He turns in mid air, incredible. Two wins on the trot for Dominik, hope this leads to more from him. #SmackDown

Kayla is backstage with Seth Rollins. She shows him a clip from two weeks ago where Cesaro spun Seth around in the ring. Seth asks her why they are talking about this. What everyone forgets is he went out there to help Cesaro. He’s been a success in the WWE but not like Seth. He went out to help him and he got embarrassed, disrespected and mocked by Cesaro and social media for the past few weeks. He says he is done with Cesaro, he is the biggest waste of potential he has ever seen.
She says Cesaro lived up to his potential last week when he got the win vs. Murphy and he has a rematch vs. Murphy again tonight. Seth is happy to hear about the rematch and walks away.
We see a segment where Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler took Reginald on a shopping spree. They are in a men’s suit store. Reginald tries out a blue suit while Nia helps him out and Shayna is sitting on the chair. Reginald tries out a grey checkered suit. Next up is a maroon blazer as Nia takes a selfie with him. A beige suit is next for Reginald followed by a purple blazer. He poses for Nia as she slaps his butt. After that is a light grey checkered suit and he sits on Nia’s lap.
Reginald asks where what he could possibly do to thank her as she smiles.
Nia and Reginald are an item now. Make of it what you will but if it somehow makes the Women's Tag Team Championships more relevant, nothing wrong there. #SmackDown

Cesaro to the outside but a flying knee to the face by Murphy.
He throws Cesaro into the ring and Murphy climbs the top rope but Cesaro with a dropkick drops Murphy to the ring apron. Cesaro grabs Murphy from the ring apron and suplexes him off the second rope into the ring. An uppercut by Cesaro followed by another one. He goes for a third but Murphy with a kick. Murphy jumps off the second rope as Cesaro catches him and swings him around. Seth runs to the ring and attacks Cesaro as the referee calls for the bell.

An obvious ending to that Cesaro and Murphy match with Rollins getting involved. What was interesting was Seth going face to face with Shinsuke Nakamura backstage. Wonder what they will do with that. #smackdownab

Jey is walking backstage and he is stopped by Edge. He tells Jey that he has known him since he was 10 and he has known his family for a long time. He asks him what he is doing. He says years ago, he saw a match with his brother and it showed him that he still loves this. He asks Jey what his dad thinks about this, playing lap dog to the big dog. Jey tells him he needs to fall in line and go to his family because when Roman gets him at WrestleMania, he won’t have anything to enjoy. He tells Edge great talk as Edge walks away.
KO Show with Kevin Owens, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks
Kevin says the last few months were rough for him, physically and mentally. He says he’s not down and out because you just keep fighting and that is what he will keep doing. But enough about him. Tonight is about his two guests, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. He introduces Bianca to the ring. He thanks Bianca for being here and introduces Sasha Banks to the ring.
All three of them sit on their separate chairs in the ring. Owens says at FastLane they have a chance to make their match at WrestleMania even bigger because they could walk in to WrestleMania as Women’s Tag Team Champions. He says John Cena and Shawn Michaels did something similar years ago at WrestleMania. And if they do that, it would help cement their legacies but they have to get the win vs. Shayna and Nia at FastLane which they were not able to do at Elimination Chamber. But that could be because they have some underlying tension, they’re both out here to prove to the world that they are the absolute best.
Owens says there might be tension because of what is going on between Reginald and Sasha. She says it’s not her fault Reginald has a crush on her. Bianca says the problem is that Reginald could be a problem for them. Sasha says she won many Championships and that is why she is like the Michael Jordan of the Women’s division. And maybe one day Bianca can be the LeBron James. And would the EST have accomplished so much had it not been for the road that the BEST paved.
Bianca says she respects Sasha’s accomplishments but her accomplishments are her own. Sasha didn’t help her win the Royal Rumble win it. Sasha says because she wasn’t in it and if she was, she would have stopped her. Sasha says she will walk in and out of WrestleMania as two belts Banks when she beats Shayna and Nia. Bianca tells her good and great but to be clear, Bianca might be walking down the road that she paved but she is in her own lane. Nia’s music hits and out she comes with Shayna and Reginald.
Natalya’s music hits and out she comes with Tamina.
I'll keep my thoughts about that Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair segment on the KO Show for the Wrestleview SmackDown Post-Show but if you like rants, this one is for you. #SmackDown

A decent Women's Tag Team match. NIa was surprisingly decent on commentary and I'm a fan of Reginald. My only complaint is Sasha should have been pinned and not Bianca but this makes sense too. #SmackDown

Bianca and Sasha are backstage arguing. Sasha tells Bianca she won’t take the blame because Bianca took the L and she calls her a rookie.
Big E, on crutches and a neck brace makes his way onto the stage. He gets rid of the crutches and neck brace and walks down to the ring. Big E says as he laid up in a medical facility because of Apollo and the ring steps, he had plenty of time to think. He hopes that Apollo knows what he did because he crossed the line. He opened pandora’s box. There is no coming back from this he says. There is no sorry to fix this. He can’t put the genie back in the bottle because Apollo made him go Biblical. Big E says it’s eye for an eye. Now once Apollo steps on his lawn, he will bulldoze his house. Beating Apollo now is not enough. Now he has to end him.
He tells Apollo that he wants what he worked for and now Big E is ready to give it to him. He is ready to give Apollo what he deserves. And they don’t need to wait because he challenges Apollo to a match right now for the Intercontinental Championship. Big E looks at the ramp and yells at Apollo telling him to come and get it. Big E says he is not surprised but he got all dressed up to defend his Intercontinental Championship and that’s what he will do.
Big E extends an open challenge to whoever wants the match.
Out comes Corbin dressed in a suit. He tells Big E if he will open a challenge, he’s not dressed to fight but he has no problem tearing up this $10,000 suit or putting some scratches on his rolex. Out comes Sami Zayn who says he accepts the challenge. He and Corbin argue as he tells Corbin that Corbin did not yet accept the challenge. He says this is the perfect ending to his documentary, him getting his Intercontinental Championship back. He tells Big E challenge accepted.
Big E calls them fools and tells him whoever gets in the ring first gets the match. Sami runs into the ring first and he taunts Corbin. He turns around and Big E with a belly to belly as Sami falls to the outside. Corbin yells at Sami.
That promo by Big E was gold. Loved it. And smart not having Apollo show up too. Also enjoying this Sami and Corbin feud that is building. Great writing. #SmackDown

He throws Sami around the ring and Sami rolls to the outside. Big E grabs Sami and throws him into the ring apron. Big E yells Apollo and hits Sami. Winner: Still WWE Intercontinental Champion, Big E
Apollo’s music hits and he attacks Big E from behind. Apollo with the Olympic slam takes Big E down.
Nia and Reginald are backstage talking and in comes Kayla. Nia tells Kayla that she’s interrupting and asks Kayla who raised her. Nia makes fun of Sasha and Bianca about how they were shocked. Reginald tells Nia that she should challenge Sasha for the SmackDown Women’s Championship next week and she could walk into WrestleMania as a double champion. She tells Reginald she likes his thinking and tells Kayla to read the room and that three is a crowd.

WWE Universal Championship Contract Signing – Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman and Jey Uso, Daniel Bryan
Adam Pearce tells them they all know why they are here. He says he has the contract and asks who would like to sign first. He places the contract on the table as Roman gets in his face. Pearce pulls up a chair for Roman as Bryan sits on his chair.
Roman tells Bryan that he doesn’t want to do this. He gets it, he did everything he was supposed to do. Roman says a few weeks ago and last week, he said yes but this week, he’s not feeling it. And Roman isn’t going to sign it. Bryan says he is excited and he signs the contract. Bryan says who would have thought that Roman Reigns is not a man of his word. Maybe that changed last week because for years everyone thought that Daniel was better than Roman but Roman never thought that. But last week, he proved it because he did something that Roman could never do. And that is that he made Jey Uso quit.
Bryan asks Roman if that made him doubt himself and asks Roman if he’s afraid to sign the contract. Bryan says he is the self proclaimed head of the table. Roman gets angry and asks Heyman for a pen. Roman signs the contract. Bryan tells Roman he is going to tap him out ust like he tapped Jey Uso out. Jey throws the table over to the outside. Jey gets in Bryan’s face and he tells Pearce that this match needs a special enforcer, someone to call this match fair and square.
Edge’s music hits and he says that’s a great idea. How about next week, for the first time in 11 years, it’s Edge vs. Jey and the winner gets to be the special enforcer at FastLane. Adam Pearce makes it official and it will be Edge vs. Jey Uso and the winner will be the special enforcer at FastLane. Edge gets in the ring and throws the microphone onto Roman. Edge throws Roman to the outside as Bryan throws Jey to the outside and Bryan hits Edge with a running knee.
That was one of the best endings to SmackDown I have seen in a while. That entire contract signing was so well done. And we get Edge vs. Jey Uso next week with the winner being the special enforcer at FastLane for the Universal Championship match. Great build up. #SmackDown
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) March 13, 2021

This was far from a bad show but that ending to SmackDown took it from a pretty good show to a very good show. Lots of things I enjoyed, from the main event to Reginald and Nia, to the promo involving Edge and Daniel Bryan. Just a fun show. #SmackDown
