WWE taking over all Cameo accounts run by talent, payments to be authorized to the company

WWE takes over Cameo accounts

According to a new report by Wrestling Inc, WWE is having talent sign agreements to turn over their Cameo accounts.

According to the original report, the following stipulations were part of the agreement with talent:

— Talent affirm that WWE is their authorized representative
— Talent authorize Cameo to make all payments and any other compensations to WWE
— Cameo will not be made a party in any dispute between the talent and WWE
— The authorization can be cancelled at any time only if the account is cancelled.

NXT Superstar Roderick Strong has already shut down his Cameo account.

Earlier today, it was reported that WWE informed their talent they would begin taking over their Twitch accounts over the next four weeks. Talent will receive a percentage of the channel’s royalties, but it will count against their downside guarantees.

We reported in early-September that Vince McMahon and other WWE Executives held a meeting with the talent about the use of third-party applications and how the company wants to reinvent their image. Mark Carrano also controversially told the talent that WWE owns their real names as well.

A letter would later be sent out to the talent reiterating what was said, though which outside third parties they were talking about was not mentioned.

We will continue to follow this story as more becomes available.
