WWE is hoping to host WrestleMania 37 at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida in 2021, according to a new report by Gary Cassidy and confirmed by Dave Meltzer.
The stadium was where this year’s WrestleMania 36 was supposed to take place, but the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown those plans. WrestleMania 36 was instead held at the WWE Performance Center over two nights.
WWE did comment on the report, saying that they are continuing to monitor locations for all events:
“We have nothing to report and given the current environment, we continue to monitor locations for all of our potential events.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently issued an order allowing the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami to host games with 13,000 fans in attendance, despite COVID-19 infections showing no sign of going down. AEW has been running shows at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville at 15% capacity.
WrestleMania 37 is currently announced as taking place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California, though the pandemic has strongly impacted that state as well.
We will continue to follow this story as more becomes available.
