Predictions from the Faculty
WWE Night of Champions 2010 Edition

Predictions by: WrestleView Columnists and Staff

Introduction
Welcome to the latest edition of “Predictions from the Faculty”. This weekend, we gathered our thoughts for the upcoming WWE PPV. This weekend we look over the WWE Hell in a Cell PPV.
The card features five matches. More than likely, those are the only matches we will predict.
As for the columnists, David Stephens finally got the better of Josh Boutwell thanks to a 5-1 record on the Night of Champions PPV. Thanks to that record, Dean Stephens now holds a one game edge on Prof. Boutwell as we approach a three PPV month.
In case you are new to reading these predictions, here is the format. Each Pay-Per-View a few of the columnists on WrestleView provide predictions on who they think will win the matches. We accumulate throughout the end of the Faculty’s year (in this case it will be Royal Rumble 2011).
What makes this entirely different to others is that you, the reader, can provide your picks for a spot to have yours posted in an upcoming PPV. All the readers have to do is either leave me a message on Facebook or e-mail at mistervwv@hotmail.com. The winner among the “WrestleView Students” will win an opportunity to post their picks under the “Student of the Week” tab in the predictions standings. We all thank you for your participation.
Before I show the class our selections, here are the rankings as of TNA’s No Surrender.

So without future adieu, here are the choices for WWE’s Hell in a Cell.
Predictions for WWE’s Hell in a Cell
***Non-Title Match***
John Cena vs. Wade Barrett
*If Cena wins, Nexus is done. If Barrett wins, Cena must join The Nexus.*
David S. – JOHN CENA.
Josh B. – BARRETT. I’m goin out on a limb (a really weak limb) with this one.
Jose M. – WADE BARRETT.
Michael P. – BARRETT Cena joins nexus due to LOSS…. he isn’t doubting himself.
Gregory W. – WADE BARRETT.
Benjamin P. – WADE BARRETT. This was the hardest one…WWE is worried about profits of Nexus and Cena is a profit machine…plus, I’ve been begging for a new twist in Cena and this could do it…he doesn’t have to be heel…just a reluctant heel.
Chad R. – JOHN CENA.
Matt O. – JOHN CENA.
Anthony V. – I need to pick up some wins soon. So I am predicting that his match is a NO CONTEST. Maybe it is because I can’t see Cena being heel when he is in movies and he sells the most merchandise. Also, on WrestleView I am noticing a couple Nexus posters for the next two PPVs. I can’t see Nexus split, but also I can’t see Cena join Nexus (unless he loses and implodes the Nexus).
Jeff S. – BARRETT.
Mike T. – WADE BARRETT because I like throwing votes away haha.
Consensus: BARRETT 7; Cena 3; No Contest 1. In a surprising set of predictions, the faculty of WrestleView predicts that “the winds of change are blowing” once more. We expect Cena to lose and join The Nexus.
***Championship Matches***
FOR THE WWE UNIFIED DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP
Michelle McCool (c) (w/Layla) vs. Natalya
David S. – MICHELLE MCOOL.
Josh B. – NATTIE.
Jose M. – LAYCOOL.
Michael P. – MICHELLE MCCOOL.
Gregory W. – NATALYA.
Benjamin P. – MICHELLE MCCOOL. LayCool need to be champs for a while…until Phoenix is back.
Chad R. – NATALYA.
Matt O. – MICHELLE MCCOOL.
Daniel B. –
Anthony V. – I would love to see Natalya win. Based on what I saw on Smackdown, she would blow the other divas away. However, if there is anyone on that roster that is not hurt now that can compete with her it is McCool. This has potential to be the best divas match in 2010. My pick is MCCOOL to retain so LayCool can go on both shows.
Jeff S. – MCCOOL.
Mike T. – NATALYA.
Consensus: MICHELLE MCCOOL 7; Natalya 4. Even though Natalya (WWE’s best kept secret) is a very talented wrestler, most of us went with the current Divas Champion. McCool is the predicted winner, but I am sure that some of us who voted for McCool want to see a new champion.
FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
Falls Count Anywhere Submissions Match
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. The Miz (w/Alex Riley) vs. John Morrison
David S. – DANIEL BRYAN.
Josh B. – DANIELSON.
Jose M. – DANIEL BRYAN.
Michael P. – DANIEL BRYAN.
Gregory W. – DANIEL BRYAN.
Benjamin P. – DANIEL BRYAN. This can’t help either Miz or Morrison…both don’t show Submission in their matches and well…Bryan does.
Chad R. – DANIEL BRYAN.
Matt O. – DANIEL BRYAN.
Anthony V. – This match has DANIEL BRYAN written all over this. Look on Wikipedia where you see “finishers”. Morrison has zero submission holds. The Miz has zero submission holds. Bryan has MANY submission holds. Miz really has nothing to gain, as I see him at the next level now. Morrison could easily get a moral victory thanks to this being a falls count anywhere match. But Bryan will get someone to tap, no question.
Jeff S. – BRYAN.
Mike T. – DANIEL BRYAN.
Consensus: DANIEL BRYAN 11; Miz 0; John Morrison 0. This was a no brainer. When one sees “Submission Match”, it makes it very obvious that the winner will be the one who has submission holds in their arsenal. Advantage Bryan! Expect this to be a good match with the champion retaining.
FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Hell in a Cell Match
Kane (c) vs. The Undertaker (w/Paul Bearer)
David S. – KANE.
Josh B. – TAKER. He’s not losing two PPV’s in a row, let alone a Hell in A Cell.
Jose M. – UNDERTAKER.
Michael P. – KANE.
Gregory W. – THE UNDERTAKER as long as Bearer can be at ring side with the Urn. If Bearer is taken out or otherwise neutralized, Kane wins.
Benjamin P. – THE UNDERTAKER. This feud has to continue…because it’s the best written one in ages! who knew that Rey injuring Undertaker would lead to this masterful feud…but to continue…Kane must lose.
Chad R. – KANE.
Matt O. – KANE.
Anthony V. – I wish I could pick Paul Bearer, because he is awesome. I am very surprised with how this rivalry has been booked since SummerSlam. The feud is getting better and better. I think if they want to continue this a bit more KANE must retain the championship. However, I won’t be surprised if Taker wins it because The Urn is on his side.
Jeff S. – TAKER.
Mike T. – KANE.
Consensus: KANE 6, Undertaker 5. Even though The Undertaker has Paul Bearer (awesome) and the Powerful, Magical Urn, it will be Kane that leave the Hell in a Cell chambers with the World Championship. It is actually pretty nice to see the faculty almost split with this match.
FOR THE WWE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Randy Orton (c) vs. Sheamus
David S. – RANDY ORTON.
Josh B. – ORTON. RKO takes out the ginger.
Jose M. – RANDY ORTON.
Michael P. – RANDY ORTON.
Gregory W. – Sheamus only if Miz Cashes in, otherwise ORTON wins.
Benjamin P. – RANDY ORTON. I know WWE is worried that Orton might be costing them cash (with rating drops) but Orton should drop it in 2 weeks…he deserves better.
Chad R. – RANDY ORTON.
Matt O. – RANDY ORTON.
Anthony V. – I first thought was if they want Sheamus to be a serious main event superstar in the WWE, he would get this win over Orton. However, RANDY ORTON is just a guy that the company can’t lose right now. Orton wins this, but expect a good showing by Sheamus.
Jeff S. – ORTON.
Mike T. – RANDY ORTON… then The Miz cashes in!
Consensus: RANDY ORTON 11; Sheamus 0. Orton was a very easy prediction. However, a couple of the faculty members predict Miz cashing in his case. Will it happen this week? Only time will tell.
