WWE Superstar Ivar of The Viking Raiders has given an update on his road to recovery.
Two weeks ago on Raw, Ivar was participating in an 8-man tag team match with Erik, Ricochet, and Apollo Crews against The Hurt Business. Toward the end of the match, Ivar went for a Viking Dive (suicide dive) and upon landing immediately crossed his arms to signal an “X,” the designation for a legitimate injury.
WWE initially stated Ivar was brought to the hospital as a precaution, but it soon became clear the injury was worse than the company initially believed. Ivar underwent neck surgery last Tuesday, September 15 to repair the damage.
Ivar posted an update on his Twitter, stating that his road to recovery has begun. Ivar thanks everyone for the love and support and said he is getting better, stronger, and healthier. He is posing in a picture with his surgeon while holding an x-ray of his surgically repaired neck.
There is no word on how long Ivar will be out, though it is not expected to be a fast recovery.
On behalf of the staff of Wrestleview, we continue to send our best wishes to Ivar for a speedy recovery.
