According to a report confirmed by PWInsider, WWE will be reviving the Payback event on Sunday, August 30, one week after WWE presents SummerSlam.
WWE’s internal calendar reportedly has Payback taking place at the WWE Performance Center. Fightful reports that WWE had informed some partners in early-July that the company was planning a WWE Network special on August 30, though further details were not known at that time.
WWE has not officially confirmed Payback as taking place on August 30. Payback was a yearly PPV event from 2013 to 2017.
SummerSlam location update
When WWE issued a press release confirming reports that SummerSlam was not taking place in Boston this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company stated that “a new location for the event is forthcoming.”
As per a report by PWInsider, WWE is going forward with the thought the show will take place at the WWE Performance Center, but they have been looking at other options. WWE is said to be considering having SummerSlam take place on a beach or a ship, though nothing has been confirmed.
