Former Minnesota Governor and WWE Hall of Famer Jesse “The Body” Ventura announced that he is considering a run as the President of the United States.
Ventura, who was 38th Governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003, stated on Monday morning that he was going to test the waters on a run for the presidency in 2020. Ventura has not filed any paperwork yet, but is in touch with the Green Party to be their candidate.
According to a statement made by the Green Party to FOX News, Ventura will not be considered an active candidate until he at least has an FEC campaign committee, a campaign website, and several other things to reach the party’s criteria.
We will continue to follow this story as more becomes available.
To be clear: I haven't filed anything. I authorized a letter of interest that was sent on my behalf to the Greens and I'm testing the waters for Green Party nomination. I'm an independent. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican because I know they're not the solution.
