Rob Gronkowski coming out of retirement in the NFL, traded to Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Rob Gronkowski returns to the NFL

Current WWE 24/7 Champion Rob Gronkowski is coming out of retirement and returning to the National Football League.

According to a story first reported by Ian Rapoport, Gronkowski was traded, along with a seventh-round pick, by the New England Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2020 Draft.

Gronkowski reportedly informed the Patriots recently that he was interested in playing football again, but wanted to do so with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Gronkowski is returning with a one-year, $10 million deal and has already taken a physical.

It is not known at this time what this means for his WWE contract, which was signed sometime in March of this year. Gronkowski was the host for both nights of WrestleMania 36 and defeated longtime friend Mojo Rawley for the WWE 24/7 Championship at the event.

We will continue to follow this story as more becomes available.
