UPDATE: WWE reached out to Wrestleview with the following statement: “There is no truth to the rumor.” The rumor can be considered officially dead.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, which is making the rounds on the internet today, WWE has supposedly reached out to Enzo Amore and Big Cass for a return to the company.
It should be noted that this is only a rumor and only one source has reported this, but it is finding traction online.
The offer reportedly is for Enzo Amore and Big Cass to return to the company and star on the NXT program. NXT will be moving to the USA Network on September 18. It is not known at this time whether or not both men have accepted the deal.
Enzo and Cass were one of the bigger acts on the main roster after debuting the night after WrestleMania in 2017. After the tag team broke up, Enzo would go on to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, while Big Cass recovered from an injury before returning to feud with Daniel Bryan.
Enzo was released from the company January 2018 after not informing them that he was under investigation on rape allegations. Enzo would later be kicked out of the 2018 Survivor Series event after trying to make a scene in the crowd. The charges against Amore were later dropped due to insufficient evidence.
Big Cass was released from the company June 2018 after numerous behavioral issues.
The duo made a surprise appearance together at the Ring of Honor/New Japan G1 Supercard PPV event at Madison Square Garden this past April during WrestleMania 35 weekend in a ringside brawl with Bully Ray and the The Briscoes.
We will continue to follow this story as more becomes available.
