TMZ is reporting that former RAW Women’s Champion and UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey sustained a bad hand injury while filming on the set of “9-1-1.”
The incident happened last week. Rousey was filming a scene in Mexico and was to slam a door, but she accidentally slammed the door on her hand, breaking her middle finger and the tip of her ring finger. Rousey finished filming the scene before admitting she had injured herself.
The injury to the middle finger was very significant — she broke the bone and nearly severed the tendon, horribly disfiguring the finger. Rousey was taken to a hospital in San Diego, where they repaired her finger with a bolt and screws. Rousey returned to the set the next day to finish filming.
Rousey addressed the incident on her Instagram. Rousey reports that she had 50% range of motion back within three days and mentions that the shot where she breaks her finger will be kept in the episode, which will air this fall.
