WWE is advertising that The Undertaker will make an appearance at Smackdown Live from Madison Square Garden on September 10.
The semi-finals of the King of the Ring tournament will also take place at the event.
The Undertaker most recently appeared on the WWE Extreme Rules event teaming with Roman Reigns in a winning effort against Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in a No Holds Barred Match.
WWE is promoting it as Undertaker’s first time ever on Smackdown Live from Madison Square Garden, but he was a part of the Smackdown taping in 2003 where he teamed with the APA in a winning effort against the FBI (Nunzio, Johnny Stamboli, and Chuck Palumbo). This was a legendary Smackdown taping that saw the last appearances of Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper for sometime due to separate backstage fallouts.
WWE will also air RAW live from Madison Square Garden on September 9. These are WWE’s first television tapings at the arena since 2009.
