We reported Friday that a rumor has been making the rounds in the wrestling media that WWE has made a pitch to the USA Network about moving NXT off the WWE Network and onto network television, and go head-to-head with AEW on TNT.
According to a new report from at PWInsider, there are some within WWE who believe moving NXT to USA Network is a done deal and it’s just a matter of time before it is announced. It is also being said there had been interest from FOX, but the USA Network came to the table over the last several weeks.
Also according to the same report, there was NXT staff told this week in Florida to be prepared for a longer show, and that things would be changing very soon. One source pointed out that NXT has a planned taping at Full Sail on Wednesday, September 11 and could launch the show live at that taping.
It is also being noted that at this time, no changes have been made to WWE’s internal calendar which lists NXT TV tapings at Full Sail for September 11, September 12 and October 12.
