Vince McMahon paid for Harley Race’s hospital expenses
Former WWE Superstar Trevor Murdoch shared a story on his Facebook page about Vince McMahon covering an expense for Harley Race during his battle with lung cancer.
After falling ill on the way to a fan expo in Knoxville, Tennessee, Race was being treated in a hospital far away from his home in Missouri. Murdoch said that Race needed to be transferred from a hospital in Atlanta to St. Louis. The transport needed to be a medical flight due to Race’s deteriorating condition. Unfortunately for the family, Medicare would not cover the expense.
A call was made to WWE to ask for assistance. Within 10 minutes, Vince McMahon paid the expense in full. Race was flown to St. Louis in his home state of Missouri to spend the last days of his life close to his family. Murdoch stated that McMahon’s focus was making sure Race was taken care of.
Murdoch publicly thanked McMahon for the two more days spent with Race.
