WWE has confirmed another release on Friday.
After confirming the already public departures of Hideo Itami and Tye Dillinger earlier today, WWE announced the release of former Cruiserweight Champion TJP.
TJP, who won the Cruiserweight Classic back in 2016 and captured the vacant Cruiserweight Championship, signed with the company that same year. He remained an active member of the company’s weekly 205 Live program.
He previously spent time as part of the TNA roster (as Manik), along with working for EVOLVE, GFW, ROH, PWG, New Japan Pro Wrestling and various other promotions.
Just earlier this week, TJP had answered a tweet from a fan asking “how soon” we would see him with AEW. Perkins expressed zero interest in signing with the upstart wrestling promotion, although that could always change now that he is a free agent.
If it were up to me, literally never. I’m doing everything I possibly can to succeed here on the team I always wanted to play for, both on and off camera. https://t.co/I9aQ3eidv0
