Matt Hardy has uploaded a video (above), noting that last night’s WWE live event in Corpus Christi, Texas was his final scheduled appearance as “Woken” Matt Hardy and hinted at a possible retirement from the ring going forward.
He addressed speculation online about his future in the ring, something his wife, Reby Hardy, addressing noting that his current deal with WWE was up in March and was exploring a possible backstage role with the company.
In early August, Matt revealed he was a battling a serious lower back issue and was hinting on Twitter that his days in the ring could be numbered for WWE. Just last week, Hardy noted his appearance in Biloxi would be his last.
It should be noted that each time he would reference a final appearance, it would specifically focus on his “Woken” character. Either way, Hardy said WWE allowed him to fulfill all of his advertised commitments and closed the video saying it was “time for me to go home.” He reiterated this with a post on Twitter as well.
[EXCLUSIVE VIDEO] It's time for me to go home.. To be a father and a husband. I did so much more than I ever imagined I would do in this industry. Thanks for making this incredible journey with me, ladies and gentlemen. I love you all. https://t.co/xGbm8bKSQD
