WWE legend Glenn “Kane” Jacobs has been officially sworn in as the Mayor of Knox County, TN. The former WWE Champion defeated Linda Haney on August 2nd after winning a close primary for the Republican Party’s nomination for Mayor this past May.
The new Mayor posted a video update to his Facebook account. In the video, he discusses being sworn in this morning, with his first full day being tomorrow. He also announced that he will be looking to do a weekly Facebook video to update his constituents.
During the video, he announced that on October 18th, both Jacobs and the Mayor of Knoxville City will be hosting an event called “Knox United: Mayors Called To Action”.
The purpose of the event is to bring community leaders, both elected officials and business owners together to discuss the opioid crises and how they can better tackle that issue in their community.
The new Mayor also announced he has created two new positions, including a new education liaison. You may view the full video here.
