Weekend numbers for “12 Rounds”

According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, the total weekend box office earnings for WWE Studio’s “12 Rounds” starring John Cena was $5,300,000 putting it at No. 7 behind “Race to Witch Mountain”, “Duplicity”, “I Love You, Man”, “Knowing”, “The Haunting in Connecticut” and “Monsters vs. Aliens.” The film played on 2,331 nationwide, which was considerably less than the three movies that rounded out the top three. The good news is that the film opened stronger than WWE Studios’ last theatrical release “The Condemned” starring Steve Austin that drew $3.8 million in its first weekend playing on 2,310 theaters. The bad news is it opened lower than Cena’s first WWE film “The Marine” that opened in 2,545 theaters with a first weekend gross of $7.1 million.
