Kevin Owens on why he prefers RAW to Smackdown, Former Impact stars at recent WWE tryouts

Argus Leader is featuring an interview with WWE star Kevin Owens where he talks about moving back to the RAW brand during the recent Superstar Shake-up and why he prefers to be on the Monday night show instead of Smackdown Live.

“I absolutely have a preference; I would much rather be on RAW. I’m a lot happier on RAW. I actually can’t overthink how much better I think I am on RAW than I was on Smackdown. And I don’t really know the reason why that is. I feel like I look more at home here, and I feel like I look like I belong here. It’s pretty obvious that RAW’s the place for me.”

Owens also talked about his goals moving back to RAW this year.

“I’d love to be Universal Champion again. I feel like I only scratched the surface of what I can give as Universal Champion from my first run with that title. But the Intercontinental title … has always been in my eye. I’ve held it twice. If the opportunity arrives to be the Intercontinental Champion, I can’t shy away from it. I’ve never been a tag team champion; I’d love to do that. As far as long-term goals, I’d love to do all of that. As far as short-term goals, I just want to keep being the best Kevin Owens I can be on RAW. I think I can say I have a good level of success, and I’m going to keep trying for that.”

Former Impact stars at recent WWE tryouts

The official Instagram account for WWE’s recruiting program showed former Impact Wrestling stars Chelsea Green (Laurel Van Ness) and Robert Strauss (Robbie E) as taking part in the recent tryout held at the Performance Center in Orlando.

Green departed Impact earlier this year, dropping the Knockouts Championship to Allie. She has remained active on the independent scene ever since and is very public about her relationship with WWE star Zack Ryder.

Strauss first signed with then-TNA Wrestling back in 2010 doing a Jersey Shore inspired gimmick and would go on to hold the X Division, Television and Tag Team Championships. He officially left the company in September of 2017.
