Former WWE and Impact star visits Smackdown Live
Former WWE and Impact Wrestling star Elijah Burke (aka “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero) posted a photo to his Twitter visiting last night’s Smackdown Live taping in St. Louis.
Burke was released by WWE back in October of 2008 and later signed with then TNA Wrestling in 2009 debuting his D’Angelo Dinero character.
He would later transition to a role on commentary in 2015 joining former WWE commentator Josh Mathews. Burke parted ways with Impact in August.
Burke noted that he visited with WWE star Kofi Kingston, his former travel partner.
Great seeing my friend and former travel partner @TrueKofi at Smackdown Live, but I gotta ask," Why the surprised look?" ~PHS #WWE #SmackDownLive #RealDealPope #TheRealDealBoxing pic.twitter.com/CLCFVPFGMB

Rosa Mendes training for her in-ring return
Sporting News is featuring an interview with former WWE star Rosa Mendes profiling her aspirations to get back in the ring training with MCW Pro Wrestling school in Baltimore.
Mendes retired from WWE in February of 2017, one year after the birth of her child that was promoted and heavily featured on the “Total Divas” reality show.
She noted that while she did take part in training during her early career with Ohio Valley Wrestling, she didn’t get much ring time and is changing that now.
“We had shows every day at [Ohio Valley Wrestling], which was great, but it limited training days. I managed on the shows so I didn’t get a lot of in-ring training. I’ve never been this strong and healthy, so I feel as though I should take advantage of this time in my life to fulfill my dream of becoming a strong competitor.”
