The following is what has been taking place on the first three episodes of Season 3 of Lucha Underground on the El Rey Network:
* Dario Cueto is out of prison and is back running the Temple.
* Captain Vasquez has been taken off the case against Cueto and detectives Neehan and Reyes have chosen sides in this impending war, with Neehan (Joey Ryan) siding with Cueto and Reyes (Cortez Castro) siding with Vasquez.
* A mysterious amulet has come to light that dates back hundreds of years and is presumed to be the trigger of this impending war, with Captain Vasquez in possession of half of the amulet and Katrina in possession of the other half.
* Dario has created the “Dial of Doom” wheel that will choose who will challenge his brother Matanza for the Lucha Underground Title. So far, Matanza has turned away challenges from Son of Havoc and The Mack.
* Killshot and Marty the Moth ended their vicious rivalry in a “Weapons of Mass Destruction” match that saw Killshot get the win after a double stomp through a ladder and regaining his dog tags that Marty had taken from him during Season 2.
* Prince Puma looks to avenge his losses at the end of Seasons 1 and 2, with Vampiro giving him advice that he should go after Mil Muertes.
* Johnny Mundo, Taya, PJ Black and Jack Evans have formed a faction called “Worldwide Underground” and are looking to obtain all the titles in Lucha Underground, but have so far been unsuccessful. Taya lost to Gift of the Gods Champion Sexy Star, Mundo has been denied a chance at the Lucha Underground Title and Worldwide Underground lost a rematch to Trios Champions Drago, Fenix and Aerostar.
* After breaking their arms in Season 2, both Chavo Guerrero and El Dragon Azteca Jr. want matches and revenge against Pentagon Dark. Rey Mysterio, Azteca’s mentor and who beat Pentagon in the season premiere, doesn’t think he is ready to face Pentagon. Dario has made a match for next week of Chavo vs. Azteca, with the winner getting their match with Pentagon and Mysterio will be guest referee.
