We start with a promo from ROH World Champion Michael Elgin. Elgin says that tonight, Tommaso Ciampa gets what he asked for. He asked for a shot at the Ring of Honor World Title, he asked for a shot at “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin. Every time I look around, I see how hard Tommaso’s training is, how ready he is. Don’t you realize how hard I train every day? How ready I am, 24/7? You asked for it, you get it tonight.
We see the usual intro, then go to the opening match.
“The War Beard” Hanson vs. “The One” Adam Cole
Code of Honor before the bell. Hanson backs Cole into the corner and breaks clean, but Cole piefaces him, rolls outside and yells out “ADAM COLE BAYBAY!” Cole gets back in, then goes for a side headlock, but Hanson throws him off. Cole slips out of a slam and hits a back club, but it has no effect on Hanson. Hanson blocks Cole sliding under his legs, but Cole with a slap, then Hanson responds with a big right hand that sends Cole to the outside to regroup. Hanson grabs Cole, but Cole hot-shots him across the top rope. Cole goes for 10 punches in the corner on Hanson, but Hanson shoves him off twice, then hits a big boot. Hanson slides to the outside and nails Cole with a throat thrust. Hanson drapes Cole across the apron and hits a series of chest clubs. Cole kicks Hanson from in the ring, then goes outside and charges, but Hanson BACKDROPS HIM ON THE FLOOR!! Hanson grabs Cole and catapults him into the ringpost, then snake eyes him into the ringpost! Back in, Hanson with 10 punches in the corner as the crowd chants “Beard” for each shot. Cole then slips out from underneath and superkicks Hanson in the back of his leg, sending Hanson crashing down to the mat as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial as Cole rolls outside and drives Hanson’s leg into the ringpost multiple times. Back in, Hanson fights back with gut shots and right hands, but Cole with a kick to the leg. Cole blocks a German and hits an enziguri, followed by a Shining Wizard for a nearfall. Cole sends Hanson off the turnbuckles multiple times, but it has no effect on Hanson. Cole with forearms, but it still has no effect. Hanson with a series of gut shots, followed by 2 clotheslines in the corner. Cole then chopblocks Hanson to take him back down. Cole drops down his kneepad and charges, but Hanson hits him with a back body drop. Hanson places Cole across the top turnbuckle and hits a series of chest clubs, followed by the Bronco Buster in the corner for a nearfall. Cole with a dropkick that sends Hanson into the corner, then catches a kick and pulls at the leg. Cole off the ropes, but Hanson catches him with a spinning front slam for a nearfall. Hanson goes for the Spin Kick of Doom, but Cole avoids it and takes Hanson down. Cole goes for the Figure Four, but Hanson kicks off and clotheslines Cole to the outside. Hanson with a head of steam and goes for a tope suicida, but Cole moves out of the way! Cole rolls back in as the ref begins his 20 count. Cole yells at the ref to count faster as Hanson starts to stir. Hanson gets back in at the count of 13, but Cole greets him with a superkick for a nearfall. Figure Four locked in by Cole as he trash talks Hanson. Hanson powers out of the hold and boots Cole in the face. Cole with a series of forearms, but Hanson with a right hand. Cole with more forearms, but Hanson with a headbutt. Cole with a kick to the leg, then yells out “ADAM COLE BAYBAY!!” Cole avoids the cartwheel clothesline by Hanson and hits another superkick, trapping Hanson’s arms in the ropes. Cole unloads with right hands to the tied up Hanson. Cole blows a kiss to Hanson and goes off the ropes, but Hanson catches him with a superkick, followed by a clothesline!
Cole then surprises Hanson with an inside cradle for the win.
Winner: “The One” Adam Cole by pinfall (Inside Cradle)
Cole flips Hanson off afterward, then goes for a superkick, but Hanson catches it and grabs Cole. Michael Bennett runs in and attacks Hanson from behind. The Kingdom puts the boots to Hanson as Maria directs traffic on the outside. Bennett sings lyrics from Edge’s theme song and lays out Hanson with a Spear. Cole grabs a mic and says that its story time from ADAM COLE BAYBAY!! Bennett & Maria take a seat by Cole as Cole says that number 1, nobody cares about the bearded troll, Hanson. Number 2, nobody cares about War Machine. Hanson starts to stir, so Cole tells Bennett to stomp away at him, which Bennett does, yelling “listen to storytime!” Cole says that speaking of War Machine, Ray Rowe happened to be in a very, very serious motorcycle accident and you can guess, nobody cared about that either. As a matter of fact, if that motorcycle accident was much, much worse, nobody would remember poor Ray Rowe.
Michael Elgin runs out and clears the ring of the Kingdom. Cole yells at Elgin as Elgin tends to Hanson while we go to commercial.

Back from commercial, Elgin is still in the ring and grabs a mic. Elgin begins to speak, but the music of Tommaso Ciampa hits and he makes his way to the ring. The two go nose-to-nose as Elgin says that he doesn’t see any reason to wait, ref, grab my belt.
Main Event for the Ring of Honor World Title: “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin (c) vs. “The Sicilian Psychopath” Tommaso Ciampa
The two slug it out as the bell sounds. Ciampa avoids the spinning backfist by Elgin and drives him into the corner. Ciampa with shoulders to the ribs, forearms and stomps to Elgin in the corner. Down comes the kneepad and Ciampa hits 3 Running Knockout Knees in the corner! Elgin goes outside, Ciampa heads out after him, nailing Elgin with a double sledge to the back off the apron. Ciampa sends Elgin into the barricade, then charges and hits another Running Knockout Knee. Crowd chants “one more time” as Ciampa grabs a chair and seats Elgin by another part of the barricade. Ref continues his count as Ciampa hits another Running Knockout Knee to Elgin. Ciampa breaks the ref’s count, then places Elgin by another part of the barricade. Ciampa charges and hits another Running Knockout Knee, sending himself flying into the crowd! Crowd chants for Ciampa as the ref continues his 20 count. Ciampa leaps off the barricade, but Elgin catches him and hits ST-Joe on Ciampa through a chair! Elgin breaks the ref’s 20 count as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial as before we go back to the match, we go to a promo from Mark Briscoe. Mark says that next week on ROH TV, its the Honor Rumble, baby. Its that time again, its Honor Rumble time again and you looking at the one, the only, Mr. Honor Rumble. I ain’t won one, cuz I won two and next week on ROH TV, you gonna see me win number three. Cuz when it comes to Honor Rumble, you looking at the man, baby.
Back to the match as Elgin grabs Ciampa and hits a POWERBOMB INTO THE BARRICADE!! Back in, Elgin heads up top and hits the corkscrew senton for a nearfall. Dueling chants from the crowd for both men. Elgin goes for the delayed suplex, but after 10 seconds of keeping Ciampa up, Ciampa with a testicular claw to Elgin that forces Elgin to drop Ciampa. Elgin gets out with a big forearm, then they exchange forearms. Ciampa with a snapmare and a Victim Kick, but Elgin gets right up. Ciampa then drops down to a seated position, allowing Elgin to Victim Kick him, to which Elgin does. Now it becomes a game of “Can you top this?” as Elgin drops down to a seated position, allowing Ciampa to Victim Kick him. Ciampa piefaces Elgin and sits down, but then Elgin deadlifts Ciampa and hits a German for a nearfall. Elgin holds on and hits another Deadlift German. Crowd chants “14 more” for the number of Germans. Elgin shrugs and DEADLIFT GERMANS CIAMPA INTO THE CORNER!! Crowd chants “13 more” as Ciampa rolls out onto the apron. Elgin goes to the middle rope and goes for the deadlift superplex, but Ciampa blocks it, then hits Elgin with an enziguri that sends Elgin onto the apron. Ciampa pulls up the ring mats, exposing the concrete on one side of the ring. Ciampa goes to the middle rope as the crowd chants “please don’t die.” Ciampa goes to superplex Elgin onto the concrete outside, but Elgin blocks it. Elgin then grabs Ciampa, DEATH VALLEY BOMB OFF THE APRON THROUGH A TABLE!! “ROH” chants by the crowd. Ref begins his 20 count as the crowd chants “this is awesome.” Elgin rolls back in at the count of 16, then Ciampa springs up and JUST BARELY beats the ref’s 20 count as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial as before we go back to the match, we go to a promo from the Kingdom. Maria Kanellis says that recently, she was given the biggest honor of her entire career, I was blessed by the ICONIC one, Matt Hardy. He has made me the ICONIC champion by giving me the ICONIC Title. So now, not only am I the First Lady, but I am the ICONIC Champion. Adam Cole says that thy Kingdom come, thy will be done. Name a place that we’ve been that we haven’t taken over. All across the United States, Canada, Tokyo, Japan, all over the world, the Kingdom has reigned supreme and I can tell you that even with Matt Hardy in his absence, he would be proud with the foundation that he’s created for the Kingdom. Michael Bennett says that the Kingdom has had our trials and tribulations recently, but like any good family, when you’re in trouble, it brings everybody closer together. But, we’re more than a family, we’re a Kingdom and every good Kingdom, it rebuilds. We will rebuild and we will be stronger than ever. Maria says that Matt is coming back.
Back to the match as both men are still down in the ring. They get to their feet and Elgin calls for a clothesline. Elgin off the ropes, but Ciampa blocks a clothesline, misses a spinning backfist, but then hits a knee strike. Elgin with a knee strike of his own, but CIAMPA KICKS OUT AT ONE!! Elgin with a series of forearms, but misses a clothesline. Elgin goes off Ciampa’s blind side, misses another clothesline, but then hits a left-arm lariat. Elgin hits the Buckle Bomb, but Ciampa fires out of the corner and TURNS ELGIN INSIDE OUT WITH A CLOTHESLINE!! Elgin then fires back up, but misses another clothesline and Ciampa hits him with an Air Raid Crash for a nearfall. Ciampa is getting frustrated. Dueling chants again by the crowd for both men. Ciampa slaps himself to fire back up. Ciampa places Elgin up top and hits a big chop, followed by an eye poke. Ciampa heads up top with Elgin, but Elgin fights back, trying to knock Ciampa off the ropes, but Ciampa holds on. Both men exchange headbutts, then Ciampa goes for a Super Air Raid Crash, but Elgin slips out and hits a Sunset Bomb! Elgin deadlifts Ciampa up, ELGIN BOMB!!! 1-2….CIAMPA KICKS OUT!! Crossface locked in by Elgin, but Ciampa gets his feet on the ropes as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial as Ciampa rolls out onto the apron and Elgin goes to the middle rope. Elgin goes again for the deadlift superplex, but Ciampa slips out, then brings Elgin out of the corner, PROJECT CIAMPA!!! 1-2…….ELGIN KICKS OUT!! Ciampa with a series of elbows to the head of Ciampa, Sicilian Stretch locked in! Elgin rolls out of it, then both men slip out of the other’s submission attempts until Elgin with a big forearm to the back of the head, followed by a spinning backfist!
Pride-style knee strikes to the back of Ciampa’s head by Elgin, ref stops the match.
Winner and STILL Ring of Honor World Champion: “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin via referee stoppage
Multiple referees come in and attend to both men afterwards. Ciampa comes to, not aware that he lost the match. Ref tells Ciampa he lost and Ciampa is upset about losing. Elgin gets to his feet while Ciampa is losing it over the loss. Elgin extends his hand for the Code of Honor as Ciampa gets to his feet. Ciampa grabs the ROH World Title belt as the crowd chants “that was awesome.” Ciampa drops the title belt down in front of Elgin and leaves the ring. Elgin stands tall in the ring, celebrating his title retention. Elgin leaves the ring as Ciampa tries to collect himself at ringside. Ring attendant tends to Ciampa, but Ciampa shoves him off. Ciampa then sends the ring attendant into the barricade, then slaps at another one. Ciampa then grabs announcer Kevin Kelly and throws him into the ring. Ciampa starts to go after Kelly, but Steve Corino leaves commentary, gets in the ring and stops Ciampa from attacking Kelly. Multiple referees and attendants get in the ring as Corino gets Kelly out of the ring and to the back. Ciampa is becoming more and more unhinged as he poses on the turnbuckles. Ciampa goes to leave again, but then comes back as he sees ring announcer Bobby Cruise get back into the ring. Ciampa gets into the ring and throws another ring attendant out of the ring. Ciampa throws Cruise into the corner and kicks him, then chokes him, yelling “Do I look like I’m playing!” Ciampa drops his kneepad and LAMBASTS CRUISE with not one, not two, but SEVEN RUNNING KNOCKOUT KNEES as the show closes.
