Ring of Honor Wrestling on Sinclair
October 26, 2013
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (National Guard Armory)
Commentators: Kevin Kelly, Nigel McGuinness
Recap by: Jason Namako of Wrestleview.com
We see video of when Mike Bennett piledrived BJ Whitmer back in August, causing Whitmer to sustain a neck injury and put him into retirement. We go to video of when Whitmer announced his retirement at Death before Dishonor XI. We then see when Whitmer convinced Nigel to give Jimmy Jacobs another chance in ROH.
We see the usual intro, then go to our opening match.
Jimmy Jacobs Trial Series Match #1: Silas Young vs. Jimmy Jacobs
If Jacobs wins three of the five trial series matches over the next two months, he will receive a ROH World Title shot on 11/15 in Dearborn, Michigan. Jacobs goes to adhere to the Code of Honor before the bell, but Silas grabs a mic. Silas says that for a minute, I thought I was in Philadelphia, I thought I was in the birthplace of ROH. “Shut the F up” chants by the crowd. Silas says he thought he was in the city that has a bunch of loyal wrestling fans, but I all see is a bunch of morons. A few months ago, Jimmy Jacobs tried to destroy ROH and what do you all do when he comes out, you cheer him like a bunch of idiots. What makes me sick is the fact that Jacobs went to BJ Whitmer when he was at the lowest point of his life and you used his pain for your gain. Now apparently, Nigel McGuinness has to give you the opportunity to prove that you are an honorable man. Let’s be honest, at best, I see the typical pussified modern man of America. From the pink hair to the fingernail polish to the feminine little body. I’d wipe the mat with you in about 3 seconds. You people can yell, boo, call me names, it doesn’t matter, because you know that every word coming out of my mouth is the absolute truth. The problem is, you’re a self-entitled person, just like these people. You expect second chance after second chance after second chance. Why is that? Because mommy and daddy made sure you got a trophy when your team finished dead last, you have no idea what a real man is if it hit you on the head like a hammer.
Bell finally sounds as Silas continues to mouth off to the crowd. Silas turns around, Jacobs charges and hits the Spear for the win!
Winner: Jimmy Jacobs by pinfall (Spear)
Silas cannot believe it as Jacobs celebrates his win. Jacobs is now 1-0 in his trial series.
