Former NXT Champion to appear in season 7 finale of CW’s “All American”

According to an exclusive from Variety, NXT star Trick Williams will appear in the Season 7 finale of The CW football drama “All American.”

Variety notes that Williams will play Eddie Blair, the Athletic Director of South Crenshaw High. Williams appeared on the show as extra during the show’s third season.

“I am super excited to be a part of this new season of ‘All American’…they treated me like royalty, put me in my own trailer, and made sure I looked top tier. I really appreciated that because four years ago, I was working as an extra–as a kicker–for South Crenshaw. To come back as the AD for Crenshaw is super surreal and a true full-circle moment for me. They have a great cast and crew, incredible directors, and a strong team. It was an honor be a part of the show.”

“All American” is the last remaining fully original scripted series on The CW, as the network has shifted more to foreign imported shows, unscripted shows, and sports programming.

Prior to his professional wrestling career, Williams played college football, first with on a full scholarship for the Hampton Pirates in 2012 and 2013. However, his season was cut short after he pulled a hamstring. Williams then abandoned his scholarship to walk on to South Carolina, and play for the Gamecocks, which is his father’s alma mater. He played for South from 2014 to 2016 alongside his brothers, André and Hassan. He caught 11 passes for 121 yards during his college career, all of which came in 2015. At South Carolina, he graduated with a degree in physical education and also spent time as an assistant coach and student-teacher intern at Airport High School in West Columbia, South Carolina. In May of 2018 he attended the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.

In NXT he is a two-time NXT Champion, former NXT North American Champion the 2023 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge winner.
