WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque took to social media on Tuesday, to unveil new men’s and women’s WWE Independent Development Championship Belts.
A tournament to crown the new champions will be held throughout various independent wrestling promotions and only defended on the independent scene.
WWE ID was launched this past October as a way to help independent wrestlers become potential future WWE Superstars. One aspect of the element of the program is recruiting talents from independent promotions under an agreement that would provide them with financial opportunity and assist with training, mentorship and development.
