Update on Corey Graves’ status with WWE

According to reports from PWInsider, F4WOnline and Fightful Select, Corey Graves will reportedly be back as a part of the commentary team for Tuesday’s episode of NXT.

PWInsider notes that Graves was booked late on Monday for the NXT commentary team.

All three media outlets are also reported that Graves has been expected to be at the WWE Performance Center on Tuesday for rehearsals. Fightful Select also notes that there has been no indication from Graves or anyone close to him that the whole situation is a work, although, sources who are close to Graves believe this will likely turn into one.

Graves has been absent from WWE programming for a week, as he expressed frustration last week on social media for being moved from the main roster commentary team to NXT.

WWE shifted around it’s commentary teams on when Raw moved to Netflix on January 6. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee returned to Raw, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were assigned to SmackDown. Graves was added as a third member of the NXT commentary team on the New Year’s Evil special on January 6.

He took to social media to comment on the situation. Both tweets have now since been deleted.

On January 7, Graves tweeted the following:

“Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream. Then you dedicate your life to something “dream adjacent” and being pretty fucking awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job. Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been.” .

On January 14, Graves tweeted out that he had a lot to say, while promoting that episode of NXT. However, he did not appear on the show and Vic Joseph and Booker T did not make any mention of his absence or the reason for it. PWInsider reported earlier that day Graves had been seen going through TSA at the Orlando airport.
